{What I Wore} Let Them Know...N O P E!

Hey Delights!

I had a very productive day yesterday, which started off visiting the offices of Care.org, an organization that does amazing work around the world with a focus on improving the lives of women and girls. I also met with one of my fab blogger boos to interview her for The Curvacast. So stay tuned for that...it's GOOODDD!

I wore my new favorite piece, this bad ass N O P E. Not today sweatshirt (which is on major sale today) and I am still living in my Universal Standard distressed jeans. I am standing in front of The National Veterans Art Museum's exhibition Above & Beyond at the Harold Washington Library.

Yesterday I ventured out downtown to run some errands and I happened upon this amazing mural on the side of the Chicago Cultural Center aka The People's Palace and knew I had to get a shot in front of it.

Hey Delights!

I am so in love with this puff sleeve sweater! I had debated getting it for weeks and one day I walked into Eloquii and finally just snagged it in red and I totally side eyed myself the entire time I first wore it for not getting it sooner. It is beautiful and so soft and elegant. It is currently 50% off & available in 4 colors and I think I am going to get it in the charcoal heather and possibly the ivory leaf color also.

I rocked this fabulous Gabby Skye Sleeveless Flocked Dress from my Gwynnie Bee closet back in October, hence the mask and I totally forgot to share it here. It is an amazing piece. This look was my idea of a chic-o-ween vibe and I rocked my pleated sleeve Lauren Ralph Lauren top (last seen here) under it for a bit of added drama.

{Life} December To Do List

Hey Delights!

When I started writing this post, we were halfway into December and the month was moving so fast. This past weekend I joined my blogger boos for the the Eloquii/Halfstack Magazine event (I recapped it a little here) It was also Joe's birthday, so Saturday was a long day...a fun one but a long one nonetheless.

Also the other night we were invited to check out the Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier and I totally felt like a little kid again. I was so excited to be there. It really felt magical and put me in such a great mood. It's like being outside enjoying everything that you love about Winter and Christmas without freezing in the cold weather.

{What I Wore} Velvet Puff Sleeves 80's Realness

Hey Delights!

I had a blast celebrating the launch of Halfstack Magazine's annual giving issue at the Chicago Eloquii store yesterday. I wore this amazing puff sleeve velvet dress that gave me all the 80's vibes that I so love. I actually walked pass this dress initially when I saw (just writing that and the reminder that we have an actual Eloquii store here in Chicago made me 😍). But anyway, I thought it was a little too matronly for me but I eventually tried it on and fell completely in love with it. So remember to always try things on, even if they don't seem like they are your style or even if you are unsure if the size will fit you, TRY IT ON!

There is only one thing that I wish was different about this dress. And that is that the puffs in the sleeve were even more Dominique Deveraux big and fabulous!😝

{What I Wore} All Velvet Everything

Hey Delights!

I finally rocked this amazing black velvet dress by Ellen Tracy that has been sitting in my closet for at least a year and a half. The dress is a size 16, which I believe is the highest size that the brand stocks and although I am not a size 18/20, it fits me perfectly. I found the same dress in this exact size here.

{Life} Where I Stand - November 2017 Recap

Hey Delights!

December has arrived with a bang and although it feels like it is already moving way too fast, I am super excited. We picked our tree up last weekend and I am in the process of getting it all decorated. But even as it sits bare and fragrant as I am writing this post, it still just makes me smile.

p.s I love these Sateen Jeans c/o - another look wearing them.  And I have stocked up on this t-shirt. It is super affordable (currently on sale 2/$12) and of course you can never have too many, so I have it in plain colors and the animal print. I also ordered a navy one and this strip version today to pick up in store later. And the compliments seriously never stop with these studded boots

Anyway, I am writing this recap later than I originally planned but I am not stressed by that. My goal is simply to keep moving forward and get the things done and not fret and regret.

So, to recap November's goals...

{What I Wore} Deer Heart

Hey Delights!

If you saw my Christmas decor it’s probably pretty obvious that I am obsessed with deer, so this sweater should come as no surprise to you. While I get extra corny with my ugly Christmas sweater, for my everyday seasonal sweaters, like the Style & Co embellished sweater I am rocking here and the one I wore here, I like to keep it kitschy but cute but not over the top.

{Fab Five} For The Week Vol. 1

Hey Delights!

Since it was Thanksgiving week and things were alternately fast paced and slow going, I changed up this latest version of the Fab Five and instead of writing it for the weekend, I am bringing it to you today.

Joe and I spent Thanksgiving in mega chil mode. We ate, slept, went for a long walk to work off some of what we ate and make room to eat more. Ate more, watched Christmas movies, went to see two movies, Coco and Roman J. Israel, Esq (both which I talk about below), ate some more, did a little shop small business Saturday shopping, drank and slept some more. And in between all of that, I worked a bit on my goals (some highlighted here).

Here I am on the walk. It was such a great, sunny day in Chicago, so I just wore this super soft turtleneck  that I recently picked up, my new studded booties that you will see in a lot of my pics because I am LIVING in them and one of my favorite capes. See similar pieces on my liketoknow page.

I didn't go crazy with the black Friday shopping. I picked up a couple of things including this Google Home Mini which is on sale for $29. I have been looking at these home assistants for awhile now and it was a price that could not be beat. Stay tuned, I will definitely be sharing my 2 cents about it at some point.

{What I Wore} Lush Lounging

Dress Barn gifted me these pieces but don't get it twisted, the opinions are all mine😍.

Hey Delights!

The fabs at Dress Barn sent me this amazing velour hoodie and velour pants from their dbSunday line and I put them on this morning because it is so cold in my apartment due to the crazy temps in Chicago and they are soooo 💃.

If you saw me un-box them last night on my Snapchat or Instagram stories (currently still up), then you know that I was instantly excited by how pretty and soft they are when I first saw & touched them.

I am wearing the "mood plum" color but it also comes in black and a gorgeous navy.  And they are seriously so lush and warm and so perfect for these colder days that I had to take a break from lounging to share it with you guys 😊.  They come in both plus & straight sizes and would definitely make a great holiday gift.

{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 14

Happy Weekend Delights!

I am alternately super excited and kinda bummed that we are basically already into November already. Of course I am excited because it's one of my favorite months but man is it going fast. As I write this, we are already one week down and these days are getting darker sooner, thanks day light savings time fall back. And I just want it to go a little slower. Because there is so much that I want to do these next 2 months of 2017.

I was working on my vision board and woahh...I mentioned in episode 16 of the CurvaCast how amped up I currently am and well...let's just say that I am going big or going bigger from here on out.

{What I Wore} Empowered To The Tee

Hey Delights!

I love inspirational quotes and sayings and I knew the second that I saw this empowerment t-shirt that I had to add it to my collection. I don't know about you, but I love being underestimated.

I love people telling me that I can't do something. It is the ultimate fuel for me. Not so much that I want to be able to tell them "ha fool, you don't know me" when I actually do what they say that I can't or shouldn't, it's more about proving to myself that I am capable beyond any limitations, self imposed or otherwise.

Since we basically skipped Fall and went straight to Winter here in Chicago I have been loving on this peplum cape jacket (last seen here) big time. It has been perfectly warm during these days of temps between 30 and 40+ degrees but not so warm that I am a sweaty mess out on these streets.

The CurvaCast Episode 16: An Interview, Inspiration, Rants, Travel & A Plea To Women

Hey Delights!

Welcome back to another episode of The CurvaCast. It's been a minute so I am sharing quite a bit in this episode of the CurvaCast. As mentioned in my Universal Standard giveaway post, there are clips from my interview with Alexandra Walden, the co-founder of Universal Standard. {HintI also mention the answer to the giveaway during the podcast around minute 39}, so if you missed my Instagram stories, you can find it there to enter.😊
this episode. As mentioned in my

I went to see Janet Jackson in concert and she was AMAZING! I haven't danced as much as I did that night in a very long time. And because it was Janet, I had to go with a rocker chic but movable vibe, so I rocked my one shoulder faux leather top again (last seen here). Get links to recreate this vibe on my liketoknow.it page.

There are also a couple of travel tips, recaps of the amazing events that I have been to and how they have inspired me. And a rant about brands who blow it with bogus promotions, and how all who appear woke, ain't and the need for women to stop it with the self deprecation and a few other things.

{What I Wore} Peplum Caped Pea Coat + Sparkle

Hey Delights!

I am going to see my all time favorite artist, Janet Jackson tonight and I am so excited. Janet has always held a very special place in my heart. Growing up, her role as Penny on Good Times was the only "ME" that I saw on television and I have loved her since.  The last time that I saw her in concert was in 2011 so needless to say, I am stoked to get to see her doing her thing once again.

The look that I rocked yesterday was somewhat of a homage to the whole Rhythm Nation vibe. I have already shared in the video here how I feel about this peplum cape jacket . It is just 💙.

I am not one of those people who think that sequins are only for "special occasions". The way I look at it, every day that I am alive is a special occasion, so I wear my sequin jeans (seen here) like I do any other pair of pants. I am thinking about adding these blue sequin pull ons to my arsenal and I also featured a couple of other cute options on my liketoknow.it page.

As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

These boots are an old favorite from Fergalicious that I have pulled out every year since I purchased them. They are biker chic cool, great with jeans and the heel height makes them just perfect for every day.

I am so EXCITED for tonight and I will of course be sharing some of tonight's concert on my social media pages, so you know what to do! 👇
