{What I Wore} Peg Leggin' It

Hey Delights! I am not normally a peg leg pants kind of a girl but this year I will be all about branching out & trying new things in every area of my life but especially on the fashion front.

So during a recent fashion haul of some serious sale items, I scooped up these fab faux leather peg leg pants, this soft pink crepe blazer and matching ankle grazer cigarette pants, this velvet cami dress & this cute "life's a beach bag" for the beach, one of which I hope to be on in the next couple of months.

Besides being a deep, rich oxblood, these beauties had 3 major 🔑's going for them.
  1. They are on sale for $23
  2. They are a really nice weight faux leather, like reallllyyy nice & well lined. So I will be rockin' them all year long.
  3. They are only $23!! Oh yeah I mentioned that already didn't I? Well a girl is really all about stretch'n her coinage this year, so that price is in the words of DJ Khalid, #MajorKey 🔑

The CurvaCast: The 12 Days of January | Day 7 #12DaysofJanuary

Happy Saturday and welcome to Day 7 of the 12 Days of January.
{insert praise dance 💃}

Boot Tray Boots: Here, here & here | Odor Eaters (necessity for winter boots!)
Hey Delights! I am so excited that we have made it through the first half of the The 12 Days of January!

Hopefully you have had a chance to start thinking about how simple actions can have a huge, positive impact on your life if you do them consistently.

I know that I have and even though I have been sick most of this year so far, I have actually been grateful for the structure the actions provide.

For example, I love how the action from Day 1 has been taking shape in my life.  When I wake up an hour earlier, although I definitely haven't jumped right out of bed every day, I have used that time to stretch and have my tea or some days drugs for this beast of a cold. But I love that I have that time to contemplate my day and just spend quiet time with myself before I have to spend it with others.

I am hoping to use that time going forward to meditate, read, pin on Pinterest, something I enjoy but don't do nearly enough, etc.

Anyway, on to today's podcast for Day 7 of The 12 Days of January. It is short and sweet but hopefully it plants a seed for you to do what I did and get something very simple that makes your life instantly better.

{What I Wore} Casual Velvet Drama

The same day that we had that crazy beautiful first Chicago snow of the season, we went bowling to celebrate my nephew and bro in laws birthdays.

Although I wasn't planning to bowl, because I was out running errands beforehand, I kept my style casual with a little pleated sleeves drama & a gorgeous velvet blazer.

{What I Wore} Holiday Vibe

Christmas came and went in a blur but not before I got to celebrate it a little. We started Christmas morning off by volunteering at the Center on Halsted and afterwards went home for a little nap and then off to hang with the fambam at my sister's house.

I wanted to keep my style majorly relaxed so I pulled out my fave velvet jumpsuit (I LOVE this one that is currently on ridiculous sale under $30) & my Noel flats from last year. I also finally wore the Eloquii cape blazer I purchased in 2015.

{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 11 - The Last Minute Christmas Shopping Edition!

HAPPY FRIDAY DELIGHTS!
I can not believe how fast this month has gone by and Christmas is just 2 days away.  Yesterday I tried to hit the stores but even before I made it off the train I realized that I just didn't want to spend my day dealing with the crowds.  So I took myself to lunch, surprised Joe with some lunch at work and then went home and did my shopping online.

I love utilizing the buy online and pick up in store option.  Especially at this time of the year because nothing takes the fa la la out of the holidays like frantic shoppers & crowded stores.

Trust me.😩

So for this week's Five Fab for the Weekend shop section I have put together a list of a few of my favorite stores that offer buy online and pick up in store options. 🙌

Shop:   Macy's | Target | Gap | Nordstrom | Bed Bath & Beyond | Crate & Barrel | KmartThe Container Store (additional 15% off order online/pick up orders)

Oh and let's not forget Amazon Prime Now. I use this A LOT and placed an order last night that should be delivered to my door any minute now. I love that you get to set the delivery window and for the holiday you can order & they are delivering up until MIDNIGHT Christmas Eve.

If you follow me on snapchat, you know I have been in Macy's quite a bit using their buy online/pick up in store option and that is because the deals are RIDONCULOUS! Like crazy good.

Wear: I picked up these super cute Khombu duck boots from Macy's a couple of weeks ago for a great deal and they are even cheaper now & you will get a WOW Pass to use on your next order when you use buy online/pick.

{What I Wore} The Magic of A Red Dress

I featured & purchased this gorgeous red off the shoulder flare sleeves dress back in August but because I felt that it would be so perfect for the holiday season, I tucked it away in my closet and patiently waited for the right moment.

Red has always been my I am woman, hear me roar power color but something about it during the holiday season turns that power into magic!

{What I Wore} Winter Wonderland Casual

Mother Nature and I have not been friends since Chiberia 2013/14 but on Sunday she cloaked Chicago in the fluffiest, most beautiful snow and I completely loved it.

As I mentioned in my Fab Five For The Weekend post, I went to get my Christmas tree and well, the snow definitely made it a little more challenging to do but I didn't even care.

It was just that fabulous. Ok Mother Nature girl, you did good this time.  Keep it up! LOL. 😄

{Fashion} Slip Into Cozy With These Cute Winter Slippers

I pretty much wear some sort of socks all year round when I chilling at the flat but when winter comes, I always upgrade to warmer, fluffier slippers because there is almost nothing worse than cold feet.

Last year I snagged these super cute festive slippers pictured and this year I definitely plan to add a couple more pairs to my winter warmth arsenal.

Check out more pajama's here.
I like being able to mix it up depending on my mood, so sometimes I want some fuzzy slippers, sometimes I want a lil glam and sometimes, I just want something silly that makes me smile. So here are just a few of the ones that I am loving.

{What I Wore} Faux Leather + Cold Shoulder Stripes

Today was such a beautiful day. Fall is in full effect and I am all about layering, so I paired this gorgeous striped cold shoulder sweater with my fuzzy sweater and threw my faux leather cape over them.

I am still madly in love with my faux leather culottes so I wear them as much as possible all year long. They just make getting dressed so easy because they truly go with EVERYTHING & they add that little touch of luxury.

{What I Wore} Fall Into Stripes

Last month when I went to see Beyonce in New Orleans, I was walking down Canal Street and happened upon one of those no name shops that usually have really trendy, cute, cheap clothes and decided to go in. My main reason for doing so was that I wanted a top. I had packed in a new, edited way (details coming soon) and at the last minute wanted a colorful top to rock with the black leggings I had with me.

I didn't find a top that I really liked but just as I was about to walk out, I spotted this multi-striped caped jumpsuit on a rack by the register and had to have it. It had several things that I love going for it, it had a cape, it was striped and it was very well priced at just $45.  The fact that it is also made of a great stretchy material, so wearing it is not restrictive or binding at all sealed the deal.

Happy weekend Fabs!

This particular weekend has felt like it was a long time coming but now it is here and I am sharing a new feature with ya. Fab Five For the Weekend will feature something to shop, wear, read, watch and drank!  And it's the weekend, so no need for rambling on...so I am just going to get to it.

Shop: You know Eloquii gets lots a love around these parts and rightfully so & they a kick- ass sale (that ends tonight at midnight!!). I have rocked one of my all time favorite purchases from the brand, these faux leather culottes so much (three past looks here) and they are on sale for $39.

Here are a few of my current other MUST HAVES!

Wear: It's in the 60's here and I just so happened to be planning to rock the faux leather culottes today with my red studded flats for a nice pop of color. Love these similar flats & would totally snatch them up if they had them in my size....sigh. Big feet problems.

And I am in there regularly picking up lippies, bath products, etc. so I am about to rack up on some rewards.

Here I am rocking one of my most recent purchases, the Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in the color "Attraction" and it is a gorgeous, rich red. I love the matte formula on this one. It's not super dry and the color pay off and staying power is the bomb dot com. I am going to pick up a couple of other colors online because I have not been able to find them again in store.

{What I Wore} Put An Arch In Summer Casual

Hey Fabs!

A few weeks back I took an archery class at the American Indian Center and while I wasn't an instant pro at it, I totally fell in love with it & is definitely something I would love to be able to add to my schedule regularly. I had my girl Jonquil snap a few pics with my iPhone.

I paired it with an eloquii belt that I have had forever (I love this laser cut version) and my striped espadrilles (similar style). My bracelet is a gorgeous festival find and of course I am rockin my Fitbit Surge, which is almost $100 less than what I paid for it here.

{What I Wore} Winter Weekend Casual Style

Hey Fabs!

Still getting used to hearing & writing 2016 but completely excited for what it brings. Aren't you? As I have written before, I am a total new years resolutions kind of a girl, so while I have just been keeping things pretty laid back these first couple of days, I have major goals and I will definitely be working on them.

Anyway, Chicago like lots of other cities has definitely started to feel very wintry after weeks of unseasonably warm weather. And now it's sweater weather, so I have been pulling out my sweaters, layers and heavier pieces in defense.

Today I ventured out to meet Joe for a latte late in the afternoon. I have finally settled in on a Starbucks drink after I had to stop drinking my beloved chai because it is not vegan. But now, it's a decaf, soy, no foam, extra hot 9 pumps hazelnut latte. And when the barista gets it right...mmmm...it's so good.

I purchased this h&m sweater early on in December after spotting it on an ad featuring Katy Perry. It was a crazy steal considering the quality & warmth of it and it sold out pretty fast but here is a similar jacquard knit style in 2 colors.

{What I Wore} Sparkling Green Sequins

Hey Fabs!

Red tends to get all the fanfare during the holidays & don't get me wrong, I love red, its my power color but I think green definitely deserves more love just in general but especially during the season of sparkle.

This particular dress comes in several lengths and cuts, all of which are fab in their own way but I went with this short fit and flare version.

{What I Wore} Quilted Gold + Liquid Leather Jeans

Hey Fabs!

I wanted a glam casual vibe for Christmas, so I slipped into my N O E L flats & finally pulled this Eloquii quilted metallic jacket that I have had for weeks out to rock with these super slick jeans. They are calling these pants faux leather leggings, but while they fit like the best leggings ever, can you say feels like wearing nothing???,,,they definitely have the texture of jeans, so I have christened them liquid leather jeans.

Anyway, I didn't do a full out photo shoot of the look but I did get a couple of snaps when I arrived at my parents house. This jacket is so unexpected and so awesome, I purchased it on first sight. Kudos to Eloquii.

Thanks for reading! Hope you had an awesome holiday!

{What I Wore} Anything But Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Hey Fabs!

Oh...Deer! Am I the only one who feels like December is flying by way too fast? I mean we are less than two weeks from Christmas and I have not celebrated nearly as much as I have wanted to. Friday night we went caroling at Cloud Gate aka The Bean here in Chicago, which has become a holiday tradition over the last few years. But I am definitely hoping to get some other fun holiday activities in also but wooo...I seriously need these days to slowwwww down.

Anyway, while I am still working on my Christmas day ugly sweater, I am happy to report that there are lots of cute seasonal sweaters that are anything but ugly, like this cute Oh...Deer! sweater that I paired with sequin skinny jeans & my faux leather cape for a little casual holiday season vibe.

{What I Wore} Fall Flowers In Bloom

Hey Fabs!

One of the things that I love the most about fashion is that sometimes you come across pieces that you think really aren't your style and you get amazingly surprised.

That was totally the case with this Carmen Marc Valvo dress. I mean I ordered it because I wanted to try something new but honestly I didn't have high hopes for it. Even when it arrived, I loved the color but I was still not too sure about the shape. But once I put it on, ahh....smiles.
