{Fashion} Gingham + Denim = All Love

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hey Delights!

Gingham is EVERYWHERE this year and I for one am totally here for it. The traditional print is getting lots of love in creative fashion ways, especially in plus size.  And denim is of course a life staple and it too is getting lots of love this season in the most fun ways. I am especially loving it in lighter colors with cute variations like rips, patches and even found some crochet and of course in shorts. So I put together a bunch of gingham and denim pieces that I am loving below that I think would be great additions to your summer fun wardrobe.

I purchased this swimsuit weeks ago and it is by far the best swimsuit I have ever owned because the top has a built in bra that I was able to get in my actual bra size, 44DDD and the fit and support is AMAZING.

I am excited that Summer is almost here so I can rock it outside of my house 😊. I almost went to the beach yesterday after a morning of bike riding but a long soak and relaxing on the couch won out. But soon...SOON! I purchased these cute denim ballet flats a week ago and I love them. {They also come in black and a taupe-y neutral} I LIVE in flats, so I love that I can get them in a lot of colors, textures and styles.

{What I Wore} Short Shorts + Pom Poms + Thick Thighs

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hello Delights!

This past weekend was as I mentioned in my Pretty Pastels post, AMAZING! We didn't have a bad winter but I am just so excited for Spring and sunshine. I think that's what I've been missing more than anything...sunshine.

But Saturday after spending all morning recording my Spring haul video (which I am still editing), we went out and grabbed a couple Divvy bikes and hit the pavement.  I love biking & it was so fun, so relaxing and just a really great day.

This outfit is basically an exact replica sans the pom pom slips ons, which are new and fab, of a look that I have worn many times (exhibit A).
Shorts:(old, similar here) | Top: Forever 21 (old, similar in a tee shirt style) | Pom Pom Faux Leather Slip Ons (comes in 3 colors) | Camera Bag: BP @ Nordstrom (sold out similar) | Visor Head Wrap: Scunci (similar) | Lip: Milani

I am definitely getting more of these visors, they are the most comfortable visors I have ever worn. They travel well because they are soft and fold up easily & I just throw it in my purse & go.

{Fashion} New In My Arsenal!

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Happy weekend Delights!

This morning I got up early and recorded a haul video of some of the new pieces that I have gotten for my Spring and Summer fashion arsenal. But while I'm still in the editing phase I wanted to share the pieces with you because some of them may very well sell out before the video posts (they are just that fab!)

Stay tuned for the final cut of the video & in the meantime, check out my other videos on my youtube channel.

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant Floral Skirt #PlusSizePick

Hey delights!

Lane Bryant is at it again with a collaboration with a high end designer, this time they have teamed up with Prabal Gurung.

The Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant collection consists of 20 pieces that pretty much live in the red, black, white and blue lane and I am here for it. I love the florals and the stripes & I almost chose this striped cold shoulder sweater as my pick but I went with this gorgeous iris print full circle skirt. There is also a matching blouse, scarf and tee shirt in the collection.

The print screams Spring to me and I am so ready for it!

What say you? Are you loving this collection?

{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 12

Happy Friday Delights!

Welcome to the first volume of the Five Fab For the Weekend for 2017! I am working on editing my first interview for the CurvaCast and I am excited to share it with you.

So much going on in the world but this is a happy place today so let's get into the Five Fab!

Shop:  While it may not feel like it but Spring will be here before and Eloquii is having a buy 3 get 50% off sale so I did a little shopping this morning to pick up a few Spring things. I love this cold shoulder wrap dress. It also comes in green and I almost got that color but I own several green dresses but not one coral dress in this tone, so I went with this color.

UPDATE: I ordered this dress and it was just as beautiful in person as on the picture but the straps were so ridiculously long that there was no way to wear it (check out the reviews on the site). I thought about altering it but I decided against it and returned it. And that really sucks because it is a beautiful piece but there was obviously some manufacturing issue with the straps.

{What I Wore} Casual Velvet Drama

The same day that we had that crazy beautiful first Chicago snow of the season, we went bowling to celebrate my nephew and bro in laws birthdays.

Although I wasn't planning to bowl, because I was out running errands beforehand, I kept my style casual with a little pleated sleeves drama & a gorgeous velvet blazer.
Blazer: Ashley Stewart (similar up to size 4xsimilar in limited sizes) | Similar Jeans | Blouse: Lauren Ralph Lauren (last seen here) | Boots: Earth Brands (I also have these fab booties from the brand seen here)

{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 9

Happy Friday from frigid Chicago! I should have known that Mother Nature was setting us up with that beautiful snow the other day. Winter came thru like a b*tch slap yesterday! Brrr....

Anyway, stay warm if it's cold where you are and if it's not, I hate you...LOL..just kidding. Well, kinda 😃

Shop: I started this morning off snuggling under the blankets and shopping this sale at Lane Bryant. I picked up three tops because I never seem to have enough when I am getting dressed and this super cute pajama set, which pretty much describes how I feel about life right now!!
(check out these pajama sets under $30)

{What I Wore} Put An Arch In Summer Casual

Hey Fabs!

A few weeks back I took an archery class at the American Indian Center and while I wasn't an instant pro at it, I totally fell in love with it & is definitely something I would love to be able to add to my schedule regularly. I had my girl Jonquil snap a few pics with my iPhone.

Top: Lane Bryant (similar) | Shorts: Similar | Shoes: Keds | Tote: Similar w/monogram | Fitbit Surge

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day: Boho Chic & Summer Perfect Hemant & Nandita

Hey Fabs!

I was going thru my email this morning and saw these super cute, crazy fun Hemant & Nandita pieces created exclusively for Gwynnie Bee and INSTANTLY went to closet them ALL!

Hemant & Nandita is a design duo from India who has designs featured in traditionally not plus size stores like Anthropologie, Revolve and other higher end shops around the world, who believes that their designs:
"beautifully manifest the richness and opulence of Indian tradition balanced with contemporary styles"
And I could not agree more. The prints in this collection and their laid back style is so perfectly boho chic, vibrant and colorful.

They just feel like Summer..

{Fashion} Star Wars Fan Girl Style

Hey Fabs!

Even if you are not actually a die hard Star Wars fan, you have to admit that the long awaited return of the epic saga is kinda exciting, right?

And of course it's always fun to show off your fan girl status and there is no shortage of ways to do so. There is something for everyone in your tribe, from your pets to your wee ones and of course your curves.

Here are six tops that I would totally rock. They range from classic to cheeky to sexy.

Star Wars Fan Plus Size T shirts
1 | 2 | 3| 4 | 5| 6

I love the kitsch of the Darth Vader Ugly Christmas Sweater, which totally reminds me that I need to start planning how I am going to beat my "Merry Thickmas" sweater from last year.

And how fab is this cold shoulder embellished top? It definitely gives Star Wars a new meaning (hahaa). It comes in 3 colors but this one is my fave. And "The Dark Side Made Me Do It" is already one of my regular excuses ;) so this shirt is a no brainer.

May the (fashion) force be with you!

Plus Size {Fall Fashion} Pick of The Day: Adam Lippes for Target Plus Size Plaid Layering Duster #PlusSizePick

Hey Fabs!

I am not complaining about the current weather here in Chicago which has been in the 70's as of late but I am so ready for Fall and layering. So today's #PlusSizePick could not have dropped at a more perfect time for me.

Have you checked out the Adam Lippes for Target collection that went live today? It is full of fun plaid looks for everything from your pets to your table top to looks for the men in your life and I am digging it. The only bummer is that the shoes only go up to a size 10 and I wear an 11 and I would have definitely purchased the ballets flats. Sigh...

Other than that, the piece that I chose from the collection for my #PlusSizePick is this Adam Lippes for Target Plaid Layering Duster. It is perfect for layering and a great piece to mix and match with all the fabulous Fall colors.

I love the length of it and the texture on the pockets is really fun. And kudos to a collaboration collection that includes quite a few plus size pieces. I would totally rock all of these looks.

What say you? Are you loving this collection?

{Fashion Challenge} 1 Dress. 2 Girls. 3 Ways to Rock It | Beaded Hanky Hem Dress

Hey Fabs!

It has been SOOOOO long since I have hooked up with one of my faves to join me in this challenge (see the last one here), so I am excited to bring it back!

Basically the challenge is to show how 1 fabulous dress can be rocked by 2 girls with completely different body types in 3 different ways.

So I have recruited our new contributor Zadry to join me and we are hoping to make this a regular feature.

Zadry and I have very different bodies and I am taller than she is, so I had to choose a dress that would work for both of us as far as length goes more than anything and instead of going with a neutral dress like the first challenge, I chose this vibrantly colored beaded handkerchief hem dress.

{What I Wore} Floral Pop + Ripped Jeans

Hey Fabs!

I so love this jacket (similar). It is a perfect fun pop of color. I have worn it with a very neutral dress and now with these dark wash ripped jeans and it popped off both.

{What I Wore} And The Crop Top Rockin' Continues

Hey Fabs!

Actually the crop top rockin' has been more frequent then ever in recent weeks and the day before, the day of & the day after all of the O Mag crop top body policing business went down I was wearing one. Cést la vie. Deal with it body shamers!

Any way, I have had this cross hem stripe crop top and midi skirt for months & finally pulled them out for some street time.

{Five Fab} H&M Plus Must Haves #PlusSizePick

Hey Fabs!

Since H&M added plus sizes to their fashion mix, the pickings have always been a bit hit or miss, (check out a previous review here) so I am always pleasantly surprised when I come across pieces from the brand that are not just trendy but ones that I would actually rock.

Draped Swimsuit (also comes in black) | Pink Jeans

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick Of The Day: Modamix Collection @ Macy's #PlusSizePick

Hey Lovelies!

I have featured Modamix pieces before on le blog, here and here but I made them the #PlusSizePick of the day because the current pieces on sale at Macy's had me swooning and wanting to snatch them all off the racks.

I took some quick snaps on my phone and I am loving the vibrant colors, patterns, textures and the variety of styles available. I did snag a couple of pieces, so expect to see them here on le blog at some point.

Not everything in store is currently on the website but  this illusion stripe jacket and this gorgeous peachy rose perforated faux leather skirt both are and I love them!

What say you? Have you rocked Modamix?

{What I Wore} Tattered Cropped Boyfriend Jeans

Hey Lovelies!

As mentioned in this #PlusSizePick post, Charlotte Russe has entered the plus size fashion arena. So, to give you a feel for the sizing, etc, I ordered a couple of pairs of their pants, including these cropped boyfriend jeans.

I snapped this pic in my hotel room at The Out NYC Hotel the other day and since this is the only place where they had a full length mirror, bathroom selfie it is ;)

And since mama nature is still playing tricks with the weather, I am still in layering mode and I am rocking the most incredible Corey Corine Origami Coat from Gwynnie Bee over my Dorothy Perkins Faux Leather Biker Jacket (last seen here & here). Gloves from Lane Bryant and booties from Shoedazzle.

{Fashion} Playing Dress Up With Gwynnie Bee New Arrivals

Hey Lovelies!

I have just returned from New York and while there I spent some time with my fam at Gwynnie Bee playing dress up and there are so many fabulous pieces coming for Spring and Summer!!

Here I am wearing a great peplum mesh top from Pink Clove and an anything but basic black MYNT 1792 skirt that in addition to the zipper you see, has some super sexy short horizontal zippers along the top on one side.

Gwynnie Bee Mynt 1792 Black Zip Skirt Pink Clove Peplum Floral Top

I wore the skirt like this to once again illustrate how great and multi-functional I have found the separates from Gwynnie Bee to be (see before here). So you can rock this look to work and change out (or tuck in and belt) the top and have the perfect look for going out after work.

{Fashion} News: Have You Heard? Charlotte Russe Offers Plus Sizes Now #PlusSizePick

Hey Lovelies!

The thing that I like the most about fast fashion brands is that they offer you the option to indulge in trends without spending a lot of loot. So, needless to say, I am glad to see another fast fashion brand, Charlotte Russe has added plus sizes to their mix.

And since they are so new to the game, I thought I would test them out by purchasing something that I rarely purchase from fast fashion brands just to get a feel for their quality and sizing (which is junior plus), so today's #PlusSizePick is their plus size "Refuge Boyfriend Cropped Jeans".

Plus Size Refuge Boyfriend Cropped Jeans

I love the tattered look and they are obviously more of a slimmer fit than traditional "boyfriend" jeans but I like that and they are under $40 (also currently buy 1 get 1 for $10) which I like even more.

Oh and if you were in the market for a split maxi t-shirt dress like the one I wore here, they have a short sleeved maxi t-shirt dress and a front split maxi t-shirt dress that I really like.

What say you? What do you think of Charlotte Russe offering plus sizes?

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick Of The Day: 5 Wardrobe Staples From Violeta by Mango #PlusSizePick

This edition of the #PlusSizePick features one of the newer brands offering plus sizes, Violeta by Mango. And since I have been eager to try the brand out, their current up to 70% off sale seemed like the perfect time to do so.

There is a crazy amount of items up for grabs but I wanted to narrow down my selection of featured items to pieces that can easily be integrated into your wardrobe. And honestly doing so was really HARD!!!! I mean there really are A LOT of fab pieces.

If you missed snagging the Lauren Ralph Lauren dress, this red draped waist dress is a great alternative. And this contrast trim skirt can definitely be worn at the office or out to dinner. I chose this chest pocket crepe blouse because it's a classic fabric made a little less stuffy by the pockets, so yes, you can rock it for work but also on the weekend with your favorite jeans. And this cotton suit jacket and cotton suit pants of course come together to make the most basic of wardrobe staples but with a slightly edgier style to them.

Notes: The Violeta by Mango line runs in sizes 8-20 and since this is a newer brand offering plus sizes on top of being a non US brand you will really want to double check the sizing chart to make sure that you are ordering your correct size.

p.s I placed my order a few days ago and I was going to feature the jacket I purchased but it is already sold out, so if you see something you love in your size, you might want to order it ASAP!

What say you? Have you tried this brand?
