{What I Wore} Holiday Vibe

Christmas came and went in a blur but not before I got to celebrate it a little. We started Christmas morning off by volunteering at the Center on Halsted and afterwards went home for a little nap and then off to hang with the fambam at my sister's house.

I wanted to keep my style majorly relaxed so I pulled out my fave velvet jumpsuit (I LOVE this one that is currently on ridiculous sale under $30) & my Noel flats from last year. I also finally wore the Eloquii cape blazer I purchased in 2015.

{What I Wore} Merry Thickmas Ugly Christmas Sweater

I DIY'd my first Ugly Christmas Sweater a couple of years ago using this Ugly Christmas Sweater Kit and I am still loving how kitschy it turned out and have decided that this year instead of trying to top it, I am just going to make rocking it at my family's celebration my annual tradition.

{Fashion} Classy Cute Plus Size Holiday Sweaters

During the holiday season, I love rockin' cute Christmas sweaters!  But with the exception of my ugly Christmas sweater, I have realized as I have been scouring sites looking for new sweaters to add to my fashion arsenal, that while I love kitsch, I prefer to show my holiday spirit in more subtle ways.

Last year I found this super cute OH Deer! sweater at Avenue and I will definitely be pulling it out again this year and I am glad to say that there are some really classy, cute options available. Here are a few.

{What I Wore} Winter Weekend Casual Style

Hey Fabs!

Still getting used to hearing & writing 2016 but completely excited for what it brings. Aren't you? As I have written before, I am a total new years resolutions kind of a girl, so while I have just been keeping things pretty laid back these first couple of days, I have major goals and I will definitely be working on them.

Anyway, Chicago like lots of other cities has definitely started to feel very wintry after weeks of unseasonably warm weather. And now it's sweater weather, so I have been pulling out my sweaters, layers and heavier pieces in defense.

Today I ventured out to meet Joe for a latte late in the afternoon. I have finally settled in on a Starbucks drink after I had to stop drinking my beloved chai because it is not vegan. But now, it's a decaf, soy, no foam, extra hot 9 pumps hazelnut latte. And when the barista gets it right...mmmm...it's so good.

I purchased this h&m sweater early on in December after spotting it on an ad featuring Katy Perry. It was a crazy steal considering the quality & warmth of it and it sold out pretty fast but here is a similar jacquard knit style in 2 colors.

{What I Wore} Anything But Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Hey Fabs!

Oh...Deer! Am I the only one who feels like December is flying by way too fast? I mean we are less than two weeks from Christmas and I have not celebrated nearly as much as I have wanted to. Friday night we went caroling at Cloud Gate aka The Bean here in Chicago, which has become a holiday tradition over the last few years. But I am definitely hoping to get some other fun holiday activities in also but wooo...I seriously need these days to slowwwww down.

Anyway, while I am still working on my Christmas day ugly sweater, I am happy to report that there are lots of cute seasonal sweaters that are anything but ugly, like this cute Oh...Deer! sweater that I paired with sequin skinny jeans & my faux leather cape for a little casual holiday season vibe.

{What I Wore} Fuzzy Pink Plaid

Hey Fabs!

As I mentioned in my last post featuring plaid, I am loving all the ways that it is showing up. And this pretty pink and black MM2 dress from my Gwynnie Bee closet is definitely a fun and stylish option.

{What I Wore} Rockin' Pleats and Plaid

Hey Fabs!

As I wrote about in my Adam Lippes for Target #PlusSizePick's post, this plaid duster was a must have.  It's obviously a great looking piece but what I was not expecting, was that it would be made of such a great material. This is definitely a cool weather piece, made of heavy weight sweater material and it has been perfect layered over my jackets on these cool Fall days.

{What I Wore} Rockin' Pink For The Cause #BCA

Hey Fabs!

I couldn't let October go by without posting something about Breast Cancer Awareness month. A few years back I wrote a month long BCA series because the cause is one that is so near and dear to my heart. And while that was a true labor of love, there are of course other ways to support the cause.

In recent years more and more fashion brands have started offering products that you can purchase with a percentage of the retail sales going to various charities and that is the case with this Pink Bohemian Crochet Bellini (c/o) from Kiyonna. 50% of the sales of this bellini go to a Breast Cancer Angels.

{Fab Five} Plus Size Pieces To Love @ Century 21

The last time I wrote about Century21 I highlighted some of the Marina Miraldi pieces that they had, which was pretty much some of the first plus size pieces that they listed online.

This time around, there are quite a few more brands and styles available and here are five that I love...

This Premise Studio Striped Cardigan (comes in 2 colors) would be perfect dressed up or down. I would definitely belt it to mix things up a bit.

This MODAMIX Plus Size Laser Cut Skirt looks incredibly rich and I really have become a fan of laser cut pieces

And it doesn't get more classic than a nice pair of Levi's. These are currently over 50% off.

And I love this Voyage by Marina Miraldi Cape Sweater and the big cable knit vibe.

Another fav in faux leather is the perforated style and this MODAMIX Plus Size Faux Leather Trim Sheath Dress does it in a unique, fun way.

Do you shop Century 21?

I always say I am going to go in to one of the locations when I am in NYC but it rarely happens, so I am glad that they are expanding their plus size options more and more online.

I also snagged three pairs of DVF sunnies from them at a crazy discount, a few months back and I love them. I am rocking a pair here.

There's everything from animal print & stripes to skinny cords & chunky sweaters to sexy skirts & dresses! Lots of great pieces that come in a variety of colors (not all pictured) to mix and match and work all seasons.

I recently snagged these two dresses (posted to my instagram account) that I completely loved.

This Julian Taylor Colorblock Dress is sold out but here is a similar style.

{Dressing Room} @eloquii by The Limited Sweaters

If you have read my blog for any length of time, you know that I am a big eloquii STAN.

And I am because I waited for the brand to drop for a long time and I had been constantly harassing The Limited CEO in person and via email since 2010 about it and when it dropped, I had really high hopes for it.  And thankfully, they have not let me down.

From the beginning, there was much to love. The pieces were stylish and very well made. And with the addition of Jodi Arnold as the designer, things have only gotten better.

Of course it's sweater season and they recently launched their sweater boutique
and there are quite a few that I am digging.

Looking at this sweater on their website, I was very skeptical about it because
it doesn't look all that hot on the model, so I am glad they had it in store.

Rockin Dem Jeans: eloquii by The Limited

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases. By doing so, you help to keep this blog going & I appreciate & thank you for it.

i love a good pair of jeans. the kind that hugs you in all the right places. the kind that doesn't lose it's shape or give me the droopy knee vibe.

so when the folks at eloquii offered to send me a pair of jeans to review, i was game.

they currently have two styles of jeans (along with jeggings), that come in classic and curvy fit in either a skinny or boot/trouser style.

i love skinny jeans and i am certainly curvy, so i went with those.

the package arrived yesterday. i got home way too late, so i don't have pics of me wearing them but i wanted to make sure that you, my readers got in on something fun that starts today.

more on that in a minute...back to the jeans.

i can tell you this, i love the wash.

i have always been a big fan of a nice rich, dark wash. it's just classic and great for dressing up or down and hides any "issues" if you know what i mean...

anyway, i like the taper of the curvy skinny jeans and i love the nice faux front pocket.

i love pockets which on say a dress, is fun but front pockets on jeans can add bulk on me...and that is no bueno.

oh and i kinda love that they don't have their name all splashed over the back pockets.

this is how i would rock these skinny jeans for a casual look.

i love anything faux fur, it's just fun, and this cardigan has a nice structured vibe to it.

of course i have to have some glitz and the sheen of this shell brings it but not over the top.

gorgeous wedge booties with just the right amount of gold accent

add some bling and go.

now on to the fun thangs... a Sale and a GIVEAWAY!!

the folks at eloquii are having a three day denim sale, (starting today thru thursday 11/17) where you get 25% off with promo code FABFIT25.

they are also holding a twitter giveaway.

Curvatude in the Stores: Ashley Stewart

not sure why, but Ashley Stewart is my favorite store to go to and try on a bunch of stuff...

i guess it's because they have really nice big fitting rooms and always a bunch of new stuff for me to choose from.

this time around, i was on a tight schedule, so i only tried on a few pieces.

it was a fuzzy iphone pic day and i tried hard not to moon ya'll cuz i was wearing a dress but took it off because it clashed with the colors of the ponchos...

anyway, fall and ponchos are the perfect pair for me. i love throwing one on and the way they drape around you....it's just so comforting.

i love this color and i would probably wear this one styled like they had it in the store, belted over a long sleeved shirt.

this one is longer and more of what i would wear as an outer garment.

and striped ponchos are all over the place because i saw two similar styles
{from JNY and INC (it's hooded)} the same day

this dress caught my eye in the khaki color (which they are calling most toast) but they didn't have the size that i needed, so i tried on the pink (which they are calling watermelon)

and while the pictures on their website give off a kinda lite brite and somewhat too shiny feel, in person the dress has a very nice sateen look

it is very figure flattering and a pullover style with nice faux buttons
(i was lazy and didn't do the belt all the way)

i also love that although it looks like faux wrap dress,
the dress is fully sewn all around, so you are not in danger of
having any wardrobe malfunctions

this is the color i initially loved oh and they have it in navy as well.
i could seriously buy all three colors because i love them all
but for fall i am leaning towards the toast and navy.

speaking of navy, i love this shirt
(i am going back to get it today as a matter of fact)

it is very fitted so i went up a size for my girls,
but it's not tight because it has built in elastic insets

and one thing that i have found almost every time that i have
gone into Ashley Stewart for one of these reviews,
is that they are really good at the fine details like this.
it was perfectly applied

Rockin 10 for 30: Day 2

Today was way more challenging than yesterday.

Yesterday it was slip the dress on and rock it.

Today, I was home alone so I had to take pictures of myself, which is not that hard once you get it set up but since it was raining and I had to make it work in my in my small living room.

And to top it off, the jeans that I thought that I was going to wear this month did not fit my goodies.

I have been saying for weeks that I know that I have gained weight because I have been living it up.

I am a very social beast and I have been out and about eating, drinking and eating some more...just really enjoying myself.

And well I never weigh myself.

I don't even own a scale.

I think that it has to be more than 13 years since I have owned one. And even then, I rarely used it. It came with a bathroom set and I thought it was cute...lol..

But really I just don't care about the number and use my clothes, in particular my jeans to give me a feel for where I am at.

So, needless to say, since its been so hot all summer, I have rarely worn jeans. It's been dresses and more dresses, and the skimpier the better.

So, this morning, I reached for the jeans, went to pull them up and uh...oh...

Too damn tight...

So, at the last minute, I had to switch up.

Thankfully I have a bunch of jeans that were too big for me and so the pair you see today, The Sweetheart from Old Navy were pulled out of that bag.

They are not my desired color, as the original jeans, Old Navy The Diva, {which btw are on sale for $14} were a much darker wash and I felt I could just get more use out of them without folks noticing that I was wearing them over and over...lol.

But they are a regular 18 skinny and right now that just aint gonna do it.

I chose this Ashley Stewart blouse as my solid color top {see it worn before here} because I like the way that it cinches at the waist and I think the neck tie is so cute and it should work well with pants as well as work as a "jacket".

The sweater is from New York & Co {which btw is has a sweet labor day sale going one} and I fluctuate between a size 16 thru 20 and I shop them all the time, so don't think plus girls can't.

But I chose the sweater because its really flexible and it's not too heavy for this transitional summer/fall season.

The shoes are my Nine West flats, that I really love because they are probably the only pair of flats that I have ever owned that have really great cushion in the heel.

Which explains why I was willing to pay more than 50 bucks for them!

Soooo....I made it thru day 2, and after my sizing issue, I think I had better check the rest of the pieces tonight instead of assuming that they will fit my summer loving body...

til tomorrow...
