Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant Floral Skirt #PlusSizePick

Hey delights!

Lane Bryant is at it again with a collaboration with a high end designer, this time they have teamed up with Prabal Gurung.

The Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant collection consists of 20 pieces that pretty much live in the red, black, white and blue lane and I am here for it. I love the florals and the stripes & I almost chose this striped cold shoulder sweater as my pick but I went with this gorgeous iris print full circle skirt. There is also a matching blouse, scarf and tee shirt in the collection.

The print screams Spring to me and I am so ready for it!

What say you? Are you loving this collection?

{Community} Stitch Fix Now Offers Plus Size

Update: 3/9/17 - Just got my Stitch Fix box. Review to come!

This Stitch Fix post I wrote way back in 2011 has over 64,000 hits and counting. The "and counting" part is because 6 years later, Stitch Fix has finally entered the plus size game and the post is a top hit on my site once again.

I know a lot of people are excited that Stitch Fix has finally started offering plus sizes but for me, while I am always glad when we plus size women have more options, I'm still a little salty about my initial experience with them. But I am taking cues from the La La Land producer at the Oscars and getting on board because it truly is a win for plus size women and the hits on my site are definitely an indicator that it was something that was really wanted.

Here's the deal in a nutshell. Stitch Fix now offers sizes 14W-24W & 1X-3X. They have partnered with some of our most loved brands like Eloquii, Kiyonna & City Chic and even added plus size options to their in house brands. Thy brought in 3 plus size bloggers to work with them on fit, etc.

The sign up process is pretty much the same as it was when I tried it 6 years ago, you take a style quiz where you enter you body specifications, aka height, weight, clothing sizes.

Then you answer some questions regarding fit/cut which I think is really important, so kudos to them for that because my bottoms are always loose in the waist because of my hips, so that is definitely something anyone styling me would need to take into consideration.

And then you rate some style collages and answer some questions regarding the types of occasions you frequent so they can determine if you need work, formal or casual clothes and how frequently you would want to receive clothes that would fit those types of occasions.

Then you answer questions about how much you normally spend on different items and if you want, you link to some of your social profiles so that the stylist can potentially learn more about your vibe.

And then finally you choose how often you want to receive a Fix, every 2-3 weeks, once a month (which is their most popular), etc. and they give you a delivery date. You then complete your payment info (they charge $20 for each styling shipment) and wait for your delivery.

Will you check Stitch Fix out?

I signed up and my first shipment is due to arrive March 11th, so stay tuned for my review.

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket #PlusSizePick

Hey Delights!

I have seen lots of versions of colorful, fun short bell sleeves on some of my fave non plus size bloggers like Jenn from Style Charade & I was seriously feeling some fashion envy because I love the style. I rocked the style in this gorgeous red dress & recently purchased this fun color-block bell sleeved teeEloquii has a longer sleeve black bell sleeve blazer but I really wanted the style in a fun, colorful jacket.

So of course I am major excited that Lane Bryant has dropped this gorgeous Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket.  It is a beauty, perfect for work & play.
These Destructed Skinny Jeans are KILLER also and currently BOGO 1/2.

As is the case like 98% of the time, I ordered today's fashion pick for myself & I can't wait for it to arrive! 😃

{What I Wore} Holiday Vibe

Christmas came and went in a blur but not before I got to celebrate it a little. We started Christmas morning off by volunteering at the Center on Halsted and afterwards went home for a little nap and then off to hang with the fambam at my sister's house.

I wanted to keep my style majorly relaxed so I pulled out my fave velvet jumpsuit (I LOVE this one that is currently on ridiculous sale under $30) & my Noel flats from last year. I also finally wore the Eloquii cape blazer I purchased in 2015.

{Fashion} FTF x Essie & Kelly Capsule Collection

I love when brands are smart and partner with plus size bloggers to create collections. The latest to do so is Fashion to Figure with their FTF x Essie & Kelly Capsule Collection featuring blogger Kelly Augustine and blogger/model Essie Golden that just dropped.

The collection is all about holiday glam and features velvets, winter white, gold, shimmer and faux leather.

{Fashion} Must Have $40 Plus Size Dresses From Kiyonna

Some of my favorite, most va va voom dresses are from Kiyonna (see here, here, here & here). Besides being super pretty, they are always incredibly well made and sexy but still classy. So, while I am not planning to share a bunch of links to a bunch of Black Friday sales, I had to share this one because I am a firm believer that every lady needs some Kiyonna dresses in her life.

$40 dresses from Kiyonna is such a major deal and the selection of dresses that are a part of the sale includes everything from lace to leopard to florals to faux wraps.  Get you some!! You will love them.

{Five Fab} Who What Wear x Target Fall Must Haves

Hey Fabs!

As I did when the Who What Wear collection at Target first dropped earlier this year, I am back to share with you 5 picks from their Fall collection that are must haves. And while I of course focus mainly on the plus size offerings, they create the majority of their styles in both straight & plus sizes.

I am loving the rich tones and fabric choices. Fall is that great season where we all tend to do a lot of layering, so I love having a variety of fabrics to choose from & this collection definitely gives you that.

{Fashion} River Island Plus Size Collection Has Arrived!

Things are finally starting to get a little sexier outside with winter loosening its' hold and I feel like I am slowly but surely peeling back my hibernation cloak and getting excited about Spring.  And like kismet, UK fashion dynamo River Island is {finally} dropping their new 75 piece plus size collection, RI Plus, March 9th!

The collection includes everything from lace up bodysuits, to a cold shoulder dresses, to white deconstructed jeans and one of my favorite things ever, a sexy black biker jacket. There is a vintage feel to some of the colors and patterns mixed in with modern touches, like the white jeans.

The collection is fronted by model Candice Huffine, who said in an interview that she feels that River Island "definitely thought about a curvy woman's body" with the RI Plus collection and she was gaga in love with several of the pieces and from the looks that I have seen, there are quite a few pieces from the collection that I would most definitely rock into Spring.

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day: Laser Cut Faux Leather Jacket #PlusSizePick

Under the helm of Linda Heasley, Lane Bryant has definitely been mixing things up with a variety of limited edition curated collections and collaborations for their Fast Lane brand. Their latest is The Otis Collection, a collaboration with a team of design students at the LA Otis College of Art & Design.

The collection is a mix of drapey, flowy & textured pieces that are pretty neutral for the most part with pops of blue, grey and green.  My favorite piece from the collection is this laser cut faux leather jacket which should not come as a surprise because it is totally my style and I have similar jackets is other colors but none with the same laser cut vibe.

There is also a matching laser cut pencil skirt in the collection and here are some of the other pieces in the Otis Collection that I would totally rock.

What say you? What do you think of this collection?

{Link Love} Shouts & Raves | Vol 1

It has been so long since I have ranted or raved about things that I am loving or hating or shared links from my favorite sites, etc so I wanted to get back in the habit of doing so.  And there is lots to share, as my blog/twitter and just general interest feeds run deep. I mean...seriously deep and of course it's not just fashion, it's filled with beauty, home decor, travel, business, money, photography and more.

Speaking of favorites, I recently purchased a light box. I have wanted one forever and I am glad I finally just got one. Have you had something on your list that you have wanted forever? Just get it girl. Life is for the living and enjoying NOW!

Loving my #lightbox, so expect to see it A LOT 😜 Deets on this one & others> #liketkit #tealover

Anyway, on to the shoutin' and ravin'...

{Five Fab} Who What Wear x Target Plus Size Must Haves + Fit Notes

UPDATE: I purchased 3 pieces from the current collection, the Mod Moto Jacket, the Botanical Print Pencil Skirt & the Trench Vest and here are some fit notes. The jacket is true to size for me and a gorgeous, deep blue. The skirt was a bust for me. I ordered it in my regular size, 18 but would need at least a 22 or 24 for it to fit me well and I wasn't really a fan of the fabric. And the vest has a really nice weight to it but you definitely need to size down a size or two even.

Initially finding the plus size options online was hit or miss but I was finally able to order the pieces that I wanted from the first collection drop. Also apparently there were some plus size items spotted in store, so if you don't find what you want online maybe you would luck up in store.

It's finally here! After being announced last Fall, the Who What Wear x Target Collection drops this weekend. And instead of a one off, the Who What Wear x Target collaboration, is actually the first of it's kind, with an ongoing partnership that will have new collections of apparel and accessories dropping every month.

And for all my plus size ladies, yes there will be plus sizes buttttttt......once again, plus size will only be sold online. Sigh...I want to say that I am surprised but call me jaded or just a realist because I am not surprised.

Anyway, as I am not a get up at 5 am to stand in line, especially in the heart of winter kind of a girl, and actually prefer online shopping in a lot of ways, I am content to shop online for the The Who What Wear collection but come on Target. Let the plus size girls who want to make a run on the stores get in on the madness. #sideeye

My annoyance at this aside, these are five cute pieces from the collection that I am really digging on.

1. Knit Bardot dress I love the sassy vibe of this dress & the floral print is so pretty.

2. Trench VestAnd I have totally fallen in love with trench vests the past couple of years and love the military chic of this one. It would be a great piece to dress up or down.

3. Painted Dot Button-up Blouse Do I really need to say much about the polka dots? I mean who doesn't love polka dots? Oh and there is a sleeveless ruffle version that will be available also.

4. Mod Moto Jacket - LOVE this blue and I have never met a moto jacket that did not call out to me.

5. Vintage Print Pencil Skirt - I definitely need more yellow in my life and love it the blue combined in this print.

Keep in mind that not all of the items will drop at the same time. The first The Who What Wear collection will be available in select Target stores and on beginning Sunday, Jan. 31st* with prices ranging from $14.99 - $49.99.

What say you?

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day: Striped Hem Dress #PlusSizePick

I know...I know, it's probably cold and snowy and dreary outside right now but in the midst of all this winter blah, there is a bright side: Spring fashion is hitting the stores and the stuff is crazy cute.

One such super cute piece is this Opposing Striped Hem Dress from Eloquii. Can I just say, kudos to Jodi and her team, they just keep bringing it with the fresh, fun style, don't they?!

Anyway, this dress. I love the colors and the alternating size of the stripes. I know some of us are hesitant to wear stripes but they are my jam and I love the way they used them for this piece, especially combined with the slant of the hem.

{What I Wore} Faux Leather Cape + Teal Faux Leather Dress

Hey Fabs!

I fell in love with this faux leather cape and faux leather skater dress the moment I laid eyes on them & immediately purchased them. So wearing them together felt like kismet. Like a meeting of two long lost BFF's.

Can we take a moment to discuss this cape (which comes in size 8-20 but it's a cape, so you might have a bit of leeway with the sizing). But it's no secret, I love capes. Like really love, love them. If I could get away with wearing them all year round, I totally would.

And this cape, well it is truly the cape to end all capes. It is such a great piece that can go from dressy to casual like how I wore it here. While I did find this faux leather fringe cape and a couple of possible options on ebay, I am so surprised that other popular brands have not produced a similar piece. So, major kudos to Violetta by Mango for being so fashion forward. Now, I just need it in red.

{What I Wore} Fuzzy Pink Plaid

Hey Fabs!

As I mentioned in my last post featuring plaid, I am loving all the ways that it is showing up. And this pretty pink and black MM2 dress from my Gwynnie Bee closet is definitely a fun and stylish option.

{What I Wore} Rockin' Pink For The Cause #BCA

Hey Fabs!

I couldn't let October go by without posting something about Breast Cancer Awareness month. A few years back I wrote a month long BCA series because the cause is one that is so near and dear to my heart. And while that was a true labor of love, there are of course other ways to support the cause.

In recent years more and more fashion brands have started offering products that you can purchase with a percentage of the retail sales going to various charities and that is the case with this Pink Bohemian Crochet Bellini (c/o) from Kiyonna. 50% of the sales of this bellini go to a Breast Cancer Angels.

{What I Wore} City Chic Cold Shoulder + Gwynnie Bee Visits Chicago

Hey Fabs!

If you follow me on social media then you know Gwynnie Bee came to Chicago for their "Inspired By You Tour" & I co-hosted a happy hour with them.  I tried on a lot of new pieces coming to the site and this dress is just one of the many fabulous frocks that you MUST closet!

City Chic Cold Shoulder Dress Chicago Gwynnie Bee Inspired By You Tour
Thank you to everyone who came out! The happy hour was so much fun! As you can see from the pictures my rugrat aka my photographer snapped, there was a great group of ladies (and a few guys) in attendance and it was nonstop sipping, nibbling, socializing & laughing.

Make sure that you check out Gwynnie Bee, in addition to fabulous clothing always dropping, they are always featuring a variety of members rocking new pieces, so you can get a feel for how they might work on your body.

Disclosure: Gwynnie Bee provided me with complimentary access to their service but don't get it twisted, I have been a fan since they began and the opinions expressed here are my own. Learn more about featured posts and my disclosure policy here.

{Chatting Curvatude} Emmicia, Eloquii + Extended Style

Last week Eloquii set off a plus size frenzy when they dropped their latest extended sizes lookbook featuring Emmicia Bracey. I personally was so excited when I opened my Eloquii email and saw her beautiful, smiling face that I had to get to know a little more about her.
Emmicia is 28 years old, 5'8'' tall and a size 28 & she was recruited to model for Eloquii via her friend, Ashley Falcon who happens to be a stylist for the brand. Anyway, I chatted with Emmicia last week and here is a bit of our conversation.

Plus Size {Fall Fashion} Pick of The Day: Zipped Faux Leather Pencil Skirt #PlusSizePick

Hey Fabs!

Today's #PlusSizePick is this fabulous faux leather pencil skirt that I just got from Violeta by Mango.

Violeta by Mango Plus Size Faux Leather Pencil Skirt

Since the brand basically only goes up to a size 20 & I have found some pieces to be cut a bit on the small size, I have only purchased a few things from them but this skirt is definitely my favorite. You can get a look at it & a jacket I purchased last season in my #Vlogtober Day 1 video.

Violeta by Mango Faux Leather Pencil Skirt

It is a really gorgeous, green with a raised pebble effect that really gives it that supple leather vibe. I can't wait to rock it and I am thinking about getting it in the color they call navy that looks pretty purple-y online.

Stay tuned, this will definitely be showing up in multiple looks on le blog...

Plus Size {Fall Fashion} Pick of The Day: Adam Lippes for Target Plus Size Plaid Layering Duster #PlusSizePick

Hey Fabs!

I am not complaining about the current weather here in Chicago which has been in the 70's as of late but I am so ready for Fall and layering. So today's #PlusSizePick could not have dropped at a more perfect time for me.

Have you checked out the Adam Lippes for Target collection that went live today? It is full of fun plaid looks for everything from your pets to your table top to looks for the men in your life and I am digging it. The only bummer is that the shoes only go up to a size 10 and I wear an 11 and I would have definitely purchased the ballets flats. Sigh...

Other than that, the piece that I chose from the collection for my #PlusSizePick is this Adam Lippes for Target Plaid Layering Duster. It is perfect for layering and a great piece to mix and match with all the fabulous Fall colors.

I love the length of it and the texture on the pockets is really fun. And kudos to a collaboration collection that includes quite a few plus size pieces. I would totally rock all of these looks.

What say you? Are you loving this collection?
