{What I Wore} Plaid: The Key To My Heart

Plaid is EVERYTHING this year and I am loving it!

I looked at this plaid pencil skirt on multiple occasions for over 2 weeks before I actually added it to my cart and purchased it and silly me...I should not have hesitated at all.

{My Style} Fab Werkwear Series:| Leather

Faux leather has become a staple in my wardrobe and really one of my all time favorite fabrics to rock. And while leather may or may not have been a work option for you depending on the industry or type of job you have, I think today, with all the wonderful ways that leather, real and faux are being used, it is a perfect option for the office.

Here are a few examples. I especially love this faux leather trim dress.

I originally was going to wear my blue faux leather top (seen here) with my perforated faux leather skirt (seen herehere) and a simple black blazer.  But in the end I went with this Calvin Klein Marble Print Faux Leather Pleated Skirt (sold out/here in all black) for this weeks Fab Werk Wear challenge because on first look, it is not really obvious that the skirt is faux leather because of the marbelized print and it would be easy to rock it in even the most conservative of work environments.

{My Style} Fab Werkwear Series:| Rockin' Prints

I am not a conservative person and that extends to my wardrobe choices, even in the workplace.  And as a girl who will never shy away from prints, I decided to really max out the contrast of my look for this week's Fab Werk Wear challenge.

Coming from an investments background, things were for the most part pretty sterile as far as fashion went but I always expressed my personality with color, prints, jewelry, etc. And my Lands End trench coat makes everything seem more fab. It's such a great color. And speaking of this color, I found a yellow short peplum trench and HAD TO HAVE IT!

#Rock10For30 {Fashion} Challenge Recap: Days 1-10

As I mentioned at the start of this round 2 of #Rock10For30, unlike round 1, where I chose pieces like leggings and a basic black dress that was easily convertible, I didn't want to choose pieces that were all too easy to work with.

I originally was going to use a classic white long sleeved shirt and a classic blazer, which are pieces that you can of course easily remix in multiple ways but  it's supposed to be a challenge, right?

Here's a recap of the first 10, well 9 looks actually since there wasn't a day 8!

So, now that I have worn all of the 10 pieces at least once, I am hoping to use some of them in fun, unexpected ways going forward.

Day 10 #Rock10For30 {Fashion} Challenge | Maxi Now Midi + Peplum

Now that I have worn all of the 10 pieces, this is where the challenge really calls for a little creativity, so today I hiked the maxi dress up with a belt and made it more of a midi dress and wore the pink peplum top over it.

Dress: Old Navy | Trench (last seen here + similar) | Wedges
 Bag: H&M (similar) | Necklace/Earrings Set

The dress originally had a pretty high split up the side, as you can kinda see here, but today I sewed it up, so that I could get more flexibility out of it.

Days 8 & 9: #Rock10For30 {Fashion} Challenge | Birthday Suit + OrangeLace

Yesterday was day 8 of this challenge and besides the gym clothes that I wore in the morning, I spent the majority of the day in bed getting some much needed rest. I did say that my b-day would be laid back, didn't I? LOL

Anyway, I will make up for the day spent in my birthday suit at the end of this challenge.

It's like bonus, not bonus. Work with me.

Today it was a balmy 50ish degrees most of the day (#sideeye) and I finally wore this deliciously orange lace skirt, which is pretty awesome.

Skirt | Jacket | Satchel | Spiked Flats | Necklace (last seen here) | Rings: Coach

Side note: I am lucky to have any pics where I am not looking crazy, like this because my kid and I laughed so much during this shoot. Her mama needed some laughs. I am so grateful for her.

While I love this skirt, I found as I mentioned before during one of my dressing room posts featuring eloquii 1.0, the lining is slightly longer than the actual skirt. I assume the pieces are made this way to account for hips & butt but on me, it just tends to hang, so I will have to put a couple of stitches along the seams to connect the lining to the skirt.

{Fashion} Challenge: #Rock10For30 Day 2 Look - Maxi Dress + Floral & Striped Flats

Day 2 and we are still deep in winter/spring but I wore the maxi dress (w/a pair of leggings under it for a bit of warmth) and the white blazer.

I love my new flats! The combination of the stripes and flowers is fabu!

{Rock}'n A Custom Parental Advisory Graphic T-Shirt

By now you have seen the parental advisory graphic shirts EVERYWHERE. Right?

Designer Alexander Wang has a high end sheer version and they have been popping up all over the place, on more affordable t shirt versionssweatshirts and even on sunglasses.

And while I thought it was cute to take something as simple as the warning put on music labels and make it pop culture cute, that whole "explicit content" thing just didn't quite fit for me.

So I created my own with a more appropriate tag line ;)

{OOTD} Rockin' Mesh Hem Dress, Acrylic Heels...

Hey lovelies.

Just dropping in for a hot second to share a snippet of a post to come. I love these cobalt acrylic pumps. They are such a POW of color and I am on the edge of getting the lime colored ones.

Mesh Hem Dress (sold out but they have a similar style skirt) | Cobalt Acrylic Heel Pumps

I am working hard to catch up on things, so I have been a little MIA on my social channels but once I get back on track, I will be flooding your feeds, so if you aren't already, follow me at the links below ;)

Stay awesome!

{Rock} Shopping My Closet & Adding Spring Touches

I have been seeing so many posts about how we all are dying for Spring to get here and I thought, "What are we waiting for? Spring isn't guaranteed to be all that warm and with the way the weather has been, who knows when it will actually arrive?"

So I am rummaging thru my closet & storage & pulling out pieces that I have had FOREVER (lots never worn) & new Spring pieces that I have gotten and rocking them NOW, starting with this moto jacket!

Crop Top: Forever21+ | Skirt: Iman sold out | Booties: Seychelles Theory | Bag: Deux Lux (I need it in this coral!!) Necklace/Earrings: Closet Fete Nail Wrap Bracelet: Nico New York & (similar w/crystals)

{Fab Five} + A Few Things From The Weekend

Sweet Sunday morning lovelies!

Lots of open items on my to do this list & I am grateful that I am starting to feel like myself again & actually beginning to get things done. After working out, today will be spent mainly putting in some overdue work on projects.

I am so ready for Spring & I have been working to bring some really pretty pieces to Closet Fete. This necklace set & stud drop earrings are just a couple of items. I hope you will love them as much as I do {and will buy them} ;).

{Rock} Vintage Black Valentine's Day Style

I love the color pink but I don't wear it often. Here is the last time I had it on on the blog. I also LOVE the color red. To me it is the ultimate power color. Bold, sexy and can't be missed. Perfect.

Coat: Vintage (last seen here) | Dress & Belt: ASOS Curve | Sunnies: ZeroUV
Shoes: Fergalicious (here in 4 colors) (on sale in red) | Necklace/Earrings: Closet Fete Nail Wrap Bracelet: Nico New York

But this year I wanted to go against the grain a bit and NOT wear either of those colors in big doses for Valentine's day, just a lil red lippie (MAC RiRi Woo) and a gorgeous pink stone necklace.

{Fun} Twitterversary Giveaway

It's no secret that Twitter is my social media drug of choice and Twopcharts
tweeted me that today is my 5th year twitterversary! My how time flies.

I am currently getting a lot of fabulous pieces in for Spring for Closet Fete, so I thought why not celebrate my twitter obsession with a giveaway.

The piece that I am giving away, the Crystal Drops Necklace is seriously AWESOME!

{Jewelry} Shine Bright!

Sometimes a girl needs a piece that makes a big statement
and this necklace definitely fits the bill!

And I think I may have to add this one to the collection as well!

I wore it today with jeans and a simple black shirt
because I wanted it to shine and shine it did!

I hope that you are enjoying the weekend!

Oh and for the first time ever, I am doing an advent calendar.
Going very DIY with it but hoping it will turn out nice...deets to come...

p.s. have you seen the super cute and sexy pieces Hips & Curves currently has?
