This Eloquii dress was a #PlusSizePick way back in February when Rumor Wilson rocked it. And although I did not end up buying it, I loved it every time that I saw someone working it, so when it showed up at Rent The Runway, I had to queue it and give it a whirl.
And what a whirl inspiring dress it is, It is so friggin AWESOME! It is incredibly well made of a really substantial scuba material and the color is so beautiful in person.
Before leaving for Miami, I was dealing with some kind of a bug, a bug that I thought I had conquered because I felt pretty good the entire time I was there.
But fast forward to Sunday and my return to Chicago and within hours of my stepping on the ice cold concrete, my throat started hurting again, my nose started running and Monday night brought the return of hacking my brain out.
So apparently my body has decided to revolt against wellness in protest of me forcing it to live in this coldness. Bwaaaa....Spring! I need you!
Sigh...anyway, the weather in Miami was definitely colder than normal but I was able to rock the pieces that I packed and I layered this Rebdolls dress under my AnnaFestafaux fur capelet (last seen here).
I just returned from Miami with my rugrat celebrating her 21st birthday and as it has been in lots of other parts of the country, it was cooler than normal in Miami while we were there.
So, while I didn't get to rock a bathing suit, I did pull out a couple of layered warmer weather looks to rock. I am of course currently in post vacation, catch up mode but wanted to drop a little sneak peek.
Faux leather has become a staple in my wardrobe and really one of my all time favorite fabrics to rock. And while leather may or may not have been a work option for you depending on the industry or type of job you have, I think today, with all the wonderful ways that leather, real and faux are being used, it is a perfect option for the office.
I originally was going to wear my blue faux leather top (seen here) with my perforated faux leather skirt (seen here & here) and a simple black blazer. But in the end I went with this Calvin Klein Marble Print Faux Leather Pleated Skirt (sold out/here in all black) for this weeks Fab Werk Wear challenge because on first look, it is not really obvious that the skirt is faux leather because of the marbelized print and it would be easy to rock it in even the most conservative of work environments.
I am not a conservative person and that extends to my wardrobe choices, even in the workplace. And as a girl who will never shy away from prints, I decided to really max out the contrast of my look for this week's Fab Werk Wear challenge.
Coming from an investments background, things were for the most part pretty sterile as far as fashion went but I always expressed my personality with color, prints, jewelry, etc. And my Lands End trench coat makes everything seem more fab. It's such a great color. And speaking of this color, I found a yellow short peplum trench and HAD TO HAVE IT!
Instagram has definitely become one of my favorite web homes, so I decided to use it to host my latest favorite things giveaway!

As I mentioned at the start of this round 2 of #Rock10For30, unlike round 1, where I chose pieces like leggings and a basic black dress that was easily convertible, I didn't want to choose pieces that were all too easy to work with.
I originally was going to use a classic white long sleeved shirt and a classic blazer, which are pieces that you can of course easily remix in multiple ways but it's supposed to be a challenge, right?
Here's a recap of the first 10, well 9 looks actually since there wasn't a day 8!
Now that I have worn all of the 10 pieces, this is where the challenge really calls for a little creativity, so today I hiked the maxi dress up with a belt and made it more of a midi dress and wore the pink peplum top over it.
Yesterday was day 8 of this challenge and besides the gym clothes that I wore in the morning, I spent the majority of the day in bed getting some much needed rest. I did say that my b-day would be laid back, didn't I? LOL
Anyway, I will make up for the day spent in my birthday suit at the end of this challenge.
It's like bonus, not bonus. Work with me.
Today it was a balmy 50ish degrees most of the day (#sideeye) and I finally wore this deliciously orange lace skirt, which is pretty awesome.
Side note: I am lucky to have any pics where I am not looking crazy, like this because my kid and I laughed so much during this shoot. Her mama needed some laughs. I am so grateful for her.
While I love this skirt, I found as I mentioned before during one of my dressing room posts featuring eloquii 1.0, the lining is slightly longer than the actual skirt. I assume the pieces are made this way to account for hips & butt but on me, it just tends to hang, so I will have to put a couple of stitches along the seams to connect the lining to the skirt.
Check out the rules of engagement for this challenge here!
I am working hard to catch up on things, so I have been a little MIA on my social channels but once I get back on track, I will be flooding your feeds, so if you aren't already, follow me at the links below ;)
I have been seeing so many posts about how we all are dying for Spring to get here and I thought, "What are we waiting for? Spring isn't guaranteed to be all that warm and with the way the weather has been, who knows when it will actually arrive?"
So I am rummaging thru my closet & storage & pulling out pieces that I have had FOREVER (lots never worn) & new Spring pieces that I have gotten and rocking them NOW, starting with this moto jacket!
