{What I Wore} Bell Sleeves & Ripped Jeans

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Spring has finally arrived in Chicago and I was able to finally pull out that super cute stripped bell sleeved tee I purchased in January and it was definitely a hit on the streets.

I have worn these ripped jeans so much that I have had to cut some of the rips off.  So I am about to add a couple more pairs to my arsenal because I love the style, although you will not see me in the ones where the entire knee or whole thigh is out. For me that's overkill. And if you like the style but really don't want to show any flesh this patched pair or lace knee pair might be more your speed.

{What I Wore} Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket + Pencil Jeans

Hey Delights!

As I mentioned when I featured this floral bell sleeve jacket as a Plus Size Pick, I love this style and was somewhat impatiently waiting for someone to drop it in plus size.  And when they did, I snatched it up on first sight and thankfully I can report that I was not disappointed.

This jacket is gorgeous. The fabric is a great weight and the seams on the flowers add a great texture to it. It is a swing jacket, and as you can see in my happy dance video, it has this great flow and elegance to it even when wearing it with jeans as I was.

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket #PlusSizePick

Hey Delights!

I have seen lots of versions of colorful, fun short bell sleeves on some of my fave non plus size bloggers like Jenn from Style Charade & I was seriously feeling some fashion envy because I love the style. I rocked the style in this gorgeous red dress & recently purchased this fun color-block bell sleeved teeEloquii has a longer sleeve black bell sleeve blazer but I really wanted the style in a fun, colorful jacket.

So of course I am major excited that Lane Bryant has dropped this gorgeous Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket.  It is a beauty, perfect for work & play.
These Destructed Skinny Jeans are KILLER also and currently BOGO 1/2.

As is the case like 98% of the time, I ordered today's fashion pick for myself & I can't wait for it to arrive! 😃

{What I Wore} Colorfully In Vested

Hello Delights!

I have had this fabulously colorful faux fur vest for years now. I remember when it first arrived that I couldn't stop wearing it around the house. It even ended up getting some love in my Warby Parker Home Try On Glasses review video. A faux fur vest is such a perfect layering piece for this time of the year, so I pulled it out for a Sunday of shopping and theater.
I just LOVE it!

{What I Wore} Duck'n Into Weekend

Hello delights! Today we are waking up in a frigid Chicago.  It is currently 15° as I am writing this but yesterday although it snowed lightly, I was able to rock one of my moto jackets & throw one of my reversible capes over it and hit the streets.

We finally got to see moonlight and I loved it. It made me sad but I loved the moments in it that showed the depth of our human capacity, compassion and connection. Mahershala Ali's Sag Awards acceptance speech pretty much summed it up.

{What I Wore} Emoji Plaid

This plaid caplet is definitely one of my favorite finds ever and it is the perfect layering piece. I threw it over a faux leather moto jacket, rocked some jeans, calf length boots and the cutest emoji wristlet.

{What I Wore} Casual Velvet Drama

The same day that we had that crazy beautiful first Chicago snow of the season, we went bowling to celebrate my nephew and bro in laws birthdays.

Although I wasn't planning to bowl, because I was out running errands beforehand, I kept my style casual with a little pleated sleeves drama & a gorgeous velvet blazer.

{What I Wore} Winter Wonderland Casual

Mother Nature and I have not been friends since Chiberia 2013/14 but on Sunday she cloaked Chicago in the fluffiest, most beautiful snow and I completely loved it.

As I mentioned in my Fab Five For The Weekend post, I went to get my Christmas tree and well, the snow definitely made it a little more challenging to do but I didn't even care.

It was just that fabulous. Ok Mother Nature girl, you did good this time.  Keep it up! LOL. 😄

{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 7

I can not believe that Thanksgiving is next week! These last few months have been flying by and I know these last weeks of 2016 will do the same, so I am hoping to live life to the fullest and just enjoy as much as I can.

The Chicago Christmas tree lighting is tonight, so I am going to go and check that out (you can follow along on my snapchat).  It's also supposed to feel kinda wintry this weekend, with a little snow to top it off, so I am picking up some new gloves because I think I may have taken mine to storage and I am not even about that going to search for them life right now. I am saving that for when I have to go and get all of my Christmas decor which will be after Thanksgiving.

Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend and here's the Fab Five For the Weekend!

Shop: I am pulling out my booties of course now that Fall is here and these Michael Antonio booties are FIRE! I love all the colors that they come in, especially the grey and burgundy.  And the price at just under $30 is crazy.

Wear:  As mentioned above, mama nature is planning to drop some cold temperatures on us, so I will definitely be pulling out some of my favorite cold weather coats like this beauty. I remember stalking this coat for months & I am still just as much in love with it as I was when I purchased it two years ago.

{Fashion} Khloe Kardashian's Good American Denim Brand

Update: The jeans have dropped and I LOVE the variety of body types that they are using in the campaignSome things to note: These jeans will not have pocket labels on them because Khloe wants the wearer to stand out, not a brand name.

They are also a premium brand, so they are selling at premium denim prices. I know some people online were expressing their displeasure at this but to that I say, hey I am glad that we can get $30 jeans AND $150 jeans in our sizes just like the smaller sized women can

My only problem would be if they aren't well made & don't fit right. But looking at the campaign pics & videos, I don't think that's the case. But I plan to get my hand on a pair, in particular THESE because I love the wash and the rips and I will let you know for sure.
~~
My favorite Kardashian, Khloe partnered with Emma Grede is launching a denim collection called Good American that will include plus sizes (up to size 24) & will be available at Nordstrom! The size inclusive collection is due to drop 10/18/16 and from the looks of the teasers that Khloe has been posting, this might be good.

Khloe announced the launch on her instagram account saying:
"This has been such an incredible journey and I feel so blessed to be able to bring this line to women everywhere of ALL shapes and sizes. I can’t wait to show you!!...Let's love our curves ladies!!!"
Yes indeed Khloe, let's love our curves. And really, is there anything that compares to a curve lovin' pair of denim? I think not. The right jeans can take what you already have and just showcase it!

LOL...can you tell I love a good pair of jeans?

According to WWD:

"the line offers three silhouettes: Good Legs (skinny), Good Cuts (boyfriend) and Good Waist (high-waisted). Sportswear staples such as bodysuits, T-shirts and sweatshirts are also part of the offering in the inaugural fall collection"
And if you remember Kardashian Kurves, the brand that the family sold at Sears, you like me would be kinda excited about this because the jeans I tried from that brand fit really well.

Over the past couple of days, more images of the #goodsquad as the brand ambassadors/models have been labeled, have been posted and there are two notable plus size figures in the mix, blogger Gabi Fresh and model Jordyn Woods.

Khloe is all about having "good booty" LOL, so I am definitely looking forward to the arrival of this brand.

What say you?
Are you excited for the Good American denim launch?

{Fashion} River Island Plus Size Collection Has Arrived!

Things are finally starting to get a little sexier outside with winter loosening its' hold and I feel like I am slowly but surely peeling back my hibernation cloak and getting excited about Spring.  And like kismet, UK fashion dynamo River Island is {finally} dropping their new 75 piece plus size collection, RI Plus, March 9th!

The collection includes everything from lace up bodysuits, to a cold shoulder dresses, to white deconstructed jeans and one of my favorite things ever, a sexy black biker jacket. There is a vintage feel to some of the colors and patterns mixed in with modern touches, like the white jeans.

The collection is fronted by model Candice Huffine, who said in an interview that she feels that River Island "definitely thought about a curvy woman's body" with the RI Plus collection and she was gaga in love with several of the pieces and from the looks that I have seen, there are quite a few pieces from the collection that I would most definitely rock into Spring.

{What I Wore} Winter Weekend Casual Style

Hey Fabs!

Still getting used to hearing & writing 2016 but completely excited for what it brings. Aren't you? As I have written before, I am a total new years resolutions kind of a girl, so while I have just been keeping things pretty laid back these first couple of days, I have major goals and I will definitely be working on them.

Anyway, Chicago like lots of other cities has definitely started to feel very wintry after weeks of unseasonably warm weather. And now it's sweater weather, so I have been pulling out my sweaters, layers and heavier pieces in defense.

Today I ventured out to meet Joe for a latte late in the afternoon. I have finally settled in on a Starbucks drink after I had to stop drinking my beloved chai because it is not vegan. But now, it's a decaf, soy, no foam, extra hot 9 pumps hazelnut latte. And when the barista gets it right...mmmm...it's so good.

I purchased this h&m sweater early on in December after spotting it on an ad featuring Katy Perry. It was a crazy steal considering the quality & warmth of it and it sold out pretty fast but here is a similar jacquard knit style in 2 colors.

{What I Wore} Quilted Gold + Liquid Leather Jeans

Hey Fabs!

I wanted a glam casual vibe for Christmas, so I slipped into my N O E L flats & finally pulled this Eloquii quilted metallic jacket that I have had for weeks out to rock with these super slick jeans. They are calling these pants faux leather leggings, but while they fit like the best leggings ever, can you say feels like wearing nothing???,,,they definitely have the texture of jeans, so I have christened them liquid leather jeans.

Anyway, I didn't do a full out photo shoot of the look but I did get a couple of snaps when I arrived at my parents house. This jacket is so unexpected and so awesome, I purchased it on first sight. Kudos to Eloquii.

Thanks for reading! Hope you had an awesome holiday!

{What I Wore} Anything But Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Hey Fabs!

Oh...Deer! Am I the only one who feels like December is flying by way too fast? I mean we are less than two weeks from Christmas and I have not celebrated nearly as much as I have wanted to. Friday night we went caroling at Cloud Gate aka The Bean here in Chicago, which has become a holiday tradition over the last few years. But I am definitely hoping to get some other fun holiday activities in also but wooo...I seriously need these days to slowwwww down.

Anyway, while I am still working on my Christmas day ugly sweater, I am happy to report that there are lots of cute seasonal sweaters that are anything but ugly, like this cute Oh...Deer! sweater that I paired with sequin skinny jeans & my faux leather cape for a little casual holiday season vibe.

{What I Wore} Weekend Petite Style: Moto Jacket + Polka Dots

Hi Ladies!

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! Mine was great: yummy food, laughs with the family and then a trip to Charleston, SC. In honor of the season and the hope that you will be starting your winter vacations soon, I thought I'd share a good weekend outfit.  :)

{Shopping} The Best Jeans for the Curvy Petite

Hi Ladies!

I wanted to talk about jeans today, because it's fall and jeans = fall. It's a fact. :) I lived in Arizona for about 5 years where it was 100 degrees in October, so I could only dream of wearing denim.

I used to love wearing jeans when I lived in Atlanta. You could even wear them during the summer, but in Arizona, that was just asking for heat stroke. So, now that I'm back in the south, I'm starting to build up my denim wardrobe. Woo Hoo!

I so love this jacket (similar). It is a perfect fun pop of color. I have worn it with a very neutral dress and now with these dark wash ripped jeans and it popped off both.

{Five Fab} H&M Plus Must Haves #PlusSizePick

Hey Fabs!

Since H&M added plus sizes to their fashion mix, the pickings have always been a bit hit or miss, (check out a previous review here) so I am always pleasantly surprised when I come across pieces from the brand that are not just trendy but ones that I would actually rock.

{What I Wore} Working My Gwynnie Bee Closet: Print Longline Scarf Jacket + Jeans

Hey Fabs!

Today I am featuring the City Chic Print Longline Scarf Jacket from my Gwynnie Bee closet. It is such a fun versatile piece.

Historically I have mainly added dresses or blazers to my GB closet, I am mixing it up more, so you will see more pieces like this and blazers, skirts, etc. My options are truly unlimited with all the new styles that they are constantly stocking!

{What I Wore} Tattered Cropped Boyfriend Jeans

Hey Lovelies!

As mentioned in this #PlusSizePick post, Charlotte Russe has entered the plus size fashion arena. So, to give you a feel for the sizing, etc, I ordered a couple of pairs of their pants, including these cropped boyfriend jeans.

I snapped this pic in my hotel room at The Out NYC Hotel the other day and since this is the only place where they had a full length mirror, bathroom selfie it is ;)

And since mama nature is still playing tricks with the weather, I am still in layering mode and I am rocking the most incredible Corey Corine Origami Coat from Gwynnie Bee over my Dorothy Perkins Faux Leather Biker Jacket (last seen here & here). Gloves from Lane Bryant and booties from Shoedazzle.
