Hey Delights!

The Gwynnie Bee closet is always overflowing with fabulous frocks for any occasion but I especially love this time of  the year when I get to rock pieces like this Robbie Bee fit and flare dress.  I am living for everything velvet & this dress is beautifully framed in it & while that is a great detail on its own, the textured polka dots add a whole other level of fab to it.

It was in the 50's & chilly in Chicago so I pulled out some tights and layered this bomb Design History velvet bomber under my faux leather cape (last seen here) and added a pop of color with my silver heels (last seen here).

Hey Delights!

As I expressed way back in 2013SimplyBe has always been one of my favorite UK plus size brands and today they are hooking us up with a  1 Day Only 50% Off Sitewide sale. One of my favorite coats of ALL TIME, this faux leather panel trench coat is from the brand, so I wanted to share a few jackets and coats that they currently have that I think would be great additions to your wardrobe.

Each of course has their own vibe. I was thinking transitional wear with the faux leather pea coat, and the gorgeous blue padded biker jacket, And we know, I just love animal print, so this textured biker jacket was a no brainer. And of course the holiday season will be here before we know it, so I love this crochet jacket because it is always nice to have something light to throw over your pretty tops and dresses. And this white fluted sleeve jacket brings the drama but is of course a great neutral to rock dressed up or down.

SimplyBe has such a huge selection on their site, so selecting these 5 pieces was a challenge but I think they are good options. There are also some great dresses, like this Magisculpt beauty that comes in both black and red and just screams holiday season to me with the velvet and sheer arms.

{What I Wore} Lace on Lace

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases. By doing so, you help to keep this blog going & I appreciate & thank you for it.

Hey Delights!

I am getting back in the groove of  early morning kid detail now that the wee one is here and this morning I only forgot one thing: the last minute stop, stare, adjust before we walked out the door.

So needless to say, once we finally got on our way and I looked at her, I realized that she had toothpaste all around her mouth. 😱 And since it was like 6:30 in the morning, I didn't take my purse with me, which has essentially the tools in it to survive almost any natural disaster, we made do with a quick hand wipe and lip balm.

LOL...anyway, as I mentioned, it was early. Way earlier than I normally start my days, so I grabbed two pieces that required nothing of me other than that I put them on, a lace dress (similar in 3 colors) that I have had forever and my Victoria Beckham x Target lace bomber jacket (last seen here with a maxi dress).

Hey Delights!
As I mentioned here my grand daughter has come to town and today was her first day of summer camp. When we dropped her off this morning I had to practically drag Joe out. Like let's go, don't linger and make her feel your clingy energy. We walked out and within 5 seconds another little girl had walked over to say hi to the wee one. I love this about kids. They want to make friends, to connect.

Yesterday we were out all day shopping and because I knew it was going to be an adventure I wanted to be as comfortable as possible so I pulled this crochet inset maxi dress I got a week ago out and because it was a bit chilly in my city, I pulled out this lace bomber jacket from the Victoria Beckham x Target collection.

{Fashion} Gingham + Denim = All Love

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hey Delights!

Gingham is EVERYWHERE this year and I for one am totally here for it. The traditional print is getting lots of love in creative fashion ways, especially in plus size.  And denim is of course a life staple and it too is getting lots of love this season in the most fun ways. I am especially loving it in lighter colors with cute variations like rips, patches and even found some crochet and of course in shorts. So I put together a bunch of gingham and denim pieces that I am loving below that I think would be great additions to your summer fun wardrobe.

I purchased this swimsuit weeks ago and it is by far the best swimsuit I have ever owned because the top has a built in bra that I was able to get in my actual bra size, 44DDD and the fit and support is AMAZING.

I am excited that Summer is almost here so I can rock it outside of my house 😊. I almost went to the beach yesterday after a morning of bike riding but a long soak and relaxing on the couch won out. But soon...SOON! I purchased these cute denim ballet flats a week ago and I love them. {They also come in black and a taupe-y neutral} I LIVE in flats, so I love that I can get them in a lot of colors, textures and styles.

{What I Wore} Annalise Keating Inspired - The Fab 40's Challenge

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hey Delights!

Today I am off to NYC for the Fohr U: The Conference, so you can follow along on my instagram, snapchat and twitter to see what I get in.

But although I am scrambling & doing my last minute packing thing, I wanted to get this post up sharing my look as the guest blogger in the Fab 40's style challenge hosted by Veronica of Cid Style File. Basically they choose a monthly theme and style it out and this month's theme is "Villain". I can not tell you how hard of a time I had coming up with someone but I ended up going with How to Get Away with Murder's Annalise Keating. Mind you, I don't watch the show but because of my twitter time line, I feel like I do and I know Annalise be on some major villain type mess.

Anyway, here is my interpretation of Annalise Keating's style, which while conservative, always has a little sexiness to it. So I went with this fitted jacket and knotted skirt.

Hey Delights!

It was such an amazing weekend in Chicago and for Easter I decided to go pretty in pink & pastels. This open shoulder dress pretty much represents the type of fashion I want to live in all Spring and Summer. It's throw on and go, pretty, simple & comfortable.
I love it!

This amazing City Chic jacket is from my Gwynnie Bee closet. It will be featured along with this dress & lots of other pieces in my Spring haul video. And if you haven't tried Gwynnie Bee yet, STOP PLAYING! It's a no brainer. They have all the latest, cutest fashion and a free 30 day trial.

{What I Wore} Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket + Pencil Jeans

Hey Delights!

As I mentioned when I featured this floral bell sleeve jacket as a Plus Size Pick, I love this style and was somewhat impatiently waiting for someone to drop it in plus size.  And when they did, I snatched it up on first sight and thankfully I can report that I was not disappointed.

This jacket is gorgeous. The fabric is a great weight and the seams on the flowers add a great texture to it. It is a swing jacket, and as you can see in my happy dance video, it has this great flow and elegance to it even when wearing it with jeans as I was.

{What I Wore} Valentine's Blush

Hello Delights!

As I mentioned in my post featuring the faux leather peg leg pants, I really want to have fun with fashion and rock things that I don't normally rock. So when I saw this soft pink crepe blazer and ankle grazer cigarette pants, I had to have them & I am thinking about getting them in the lavender color that is currently available.

While I LOVE color and wear it as much as possible, I rarely wear pink. And I definitely did not have a pink pant suit in my life. And this is such a sweet blush of pink. While I went pretty dressy for this look with the deep v bodysuit & floral heels, I can't wait to dress these pieces down also.

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket #PlusSizePick

Hey Delights!

I have seen lots of versions of colorful, fun short bell sleeves on some of my fave non plus size bloggers like Jenn from Style Charade & I was seriously feeling some fashion envy because I love the style. I rocked the style in this gorgeous red dress & recently purchased this fun color-block bell sleeved teeEloquii has a longer sleeve black bell sleeve blazer but I really wanted the style in a fun, colorful jacket.

So of course I am major excited that Lane Bryant has dropped this gorgeous Floral Bell Sleeve Jacket.  It is a beauty, perfect for work & play.
These Destructed Skinny Jeans are KILLER also and currently BOGO 1/2.

As is the case like 98% of the time, I ordered today's fashion pick for myself & I can't wait for it to arrive! 😃

{What I Wore} Colorfully In Vested

Hello Delights!

I have had this fabulously colorful faux fur vest for years now. I remember when it first arrived that I couldn't stop wearing it around the house. It even ended up getting some love in my Warby Parker Home Try On Glasses review video. A faux fur vest is such a perfect layering piece for this time of the year, so I pulled it out for a Sunday of shopping and theater.
I just LOVE it!

{What I Wore} Duck'n Into Weekend

Hello delights! Today we are waking up in a frigid Chicago.  It is currently 15° as I am writing this but yesterday although it snowed lightly, I was able to rock one of my moto jackets & throw one of my reversible capes over it and hit the streets.

We finally got to see moonlight and I loved it. It made me sad but I loved the moments in it that showed the depth of our human capacity, compassion and connection. Mahershala Ali's Sag Awards acceptance speech pretty much summed it up.

{What I Wore} Peg Leggin' It

Hey Delights! I am not normally a peg leg pants kind of a girl but this year I will be all about branching out & trying new things in every area of my life but especially on the fashion front.

So during a recent fashion haul of some serious sale items, I scooped up these fab faux leather peg leg pants, this soft pink crepe blazer and matching ankle grazer cigarette pants, this velvet cami dress & this cute "life's a beach bag" for the beach, one of which I hope to be on in the next couple of months.

Besides being a deep, rich oxblood, these beauties had 3 major 🔑's going for them.
  1. They are on sale for $23
  2. They are a really nice weight faux leather, like reallllyyy nice & well lined. So I will be rockin' them all year long.
  3. They are only $23!! Oh yeah I mentioned that already didn't I? Well a girl is really all about stretch'n her coinage this year, so that price is in the words of DJ Khalid, #MajorKey 🔑

{What I Wore} Casual Velvet Drama

The same day that we had that crazy beautiful first Chicago snow of the season, we went bowling to celebrate my nephew and bro in laws birthdays.

Although I wasn't planning to bowl, because I was out running errands beforehand, I kept my style casual with a little pleated sleeves drama & a gorgeous velvet blazer.

{What I Wore} Holiday Vibe

Christmas came and went in a blur but not before I got to celebrate it a little. We started Christmas morning off by volunteering at the Center on Halsted and afterwards went home for a little nap and then off to hang with the fambam at my sister's house.

I wanted to keep my style majorly relaxed so I pulled out my fave velvet jumpsuit (I LOVE this one that is currently on ridiculous sale under $30) & my Noel flats from last year. I also finally wore the Eloquii cape blazer I purchased in 2015.

{What I Wore} Winter Wonderland Casual

Mother Nature and I have not been friends since Chiberia 2013/14 but on Sunday she cloaked Chicago in the fluffiest, most beautiful snow and I completely loved it.

As I mentioned in my Fab Five For The Weekend post, I went to get my Christmas tree and well, the snow definitely made it a little more challenging to do but I didn't even care.

It was just that fabulous. Ok Mother Nature girl, you did good this time.  Keep it up! LOL. 😄

{What I Wore} Faux Leather + Cold Shoulder Stripes

Today was such a beautiful day. Fall is in full effect and I am all about layering, so I paired this gorgeous striped cold shoulder sweater with my fuzzy sweater and threw my faux leather cape over them.

I am still madly in love with my faux leather culottes so I wear them as much as possible all year long. They just make getting dressed so easy because they truly go with EVERYTHING & they add that little touch of luxury.

Hey Fabs! Happy Weekend!

I hope you had a great week. The weather has been all over the place in Chicago but that has only made the weekend even sweeter to me.  This morning I grabbed one of my favorite throw blankets (I want this one!), my tablet, some tumeric and ginger tea, put this cucumber mask on and chilled on the balcony.

It is officially Christian Siriano season! First he showed the fashion world how a fashion show should be done by strutting models of various sizes down the runway during New York Fashion Week.
And now, just days later, his latest collaboration with Lane Bryant has dropped.

The Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant Collection is a limited edition run featuring pretty blues, prints, classic fabrics and details with a twist.

Here are five pieces from the collection that I think are total must haves.

{Fashion} River Island Plus Size Collection Has Arrived!

Things are finally starting to get a little sexier outside with winter loosening its' hold and I feel like I am slowly but surely peeling back my hibernation cloak and getting excited about Spring.  And like kismet, UK fashion dynamo River Island is {finally} dropping their new 75 piece plus size collection, RI Plus, March 9th!

The collection includes everything from lace up bodysuits, to a cold shoulder dresses, to white deconstructed jeans and one of my favorite things ever, a sexy black biker jacket. There is a vintage feel to some of the colors and patterns mixed in with modern touches, like the white jeans.

The collection is fronted by model Candice Huffine, who said in an interview that she feels that River Island "definitely thought about a curvy woman's body" with the RI Plus collection and she was gaga in love with several of the pieces and from the looks that I have seen, there are quite a few pieces from the collection that I would most definitely rock into Spring.
