You Need One of These in Your {Life}

Hey Delights!

As I mentioned in my January To Do post, we spent the end of 2017 on a crazy road trip from Chicago to Mississippi to Minnesota back to Chicago then back to Minnesota where we got caught up in bad weather.  So we ended up spending a day relaxing and doing a little shopping at the Mall of America before heading back to Chicago. And on New Years Eve, we were back on the road again to drop our wee one off in Mississippi.

Wheww...it was definitely an adventure, with lots of ups and downs, like me getting sick along the way but we made it happen and I loved it and I really mean it when I say I would totally do it again.

During our last stop at the Mall of America, I randomly picked up this awesome double walled stainless steel bottle and it has already made my list of must have purchases for 2018. I have wanted one forever and finally grabbed one so that I could have a hot drink with me at all times during this insane, frigidness that has settled in over the past week or so.

This sounds dramatic but it has been LIFE CHANGING. Like seriously. Most of them keep drinks cold for 24 hours & hot for 12 hours and I don't know how I have survived all these years without one.

I got mine from Marshalls, this one looks exactly like it.  And this one comes in lots of different colors and has a lot of great reviews, so I might have to add one of these to my new collection. There are hundreds of possible options but here are a few that I like.

{Tech} Guess What Mama's Got?

A brand spankin new camera...and it was long overdue.

After I lost the one I had for over 7 years, during what was (and frankly still is, as I STILL can't get over it) one of the most traumatizing, unbelievable moments of my life, I snagged a budget friendly camera.

It did it's thang for awhile, you know...

I was able to capture some pretty good shots...even at night using my tripod and timer...

But I also wanted to chuck it into the nearest garbage can plenty a day when moments that should have been perfectly captured, were not.

So, when it finally died a short death a few weeks back, while I was a little miffed because of course there are always pictures to be taken, I wasn't all that mad...

Like...thanks but good riddance...

I had grown tired of fooling around with it.

I had been toying with the idea of upgrading for some time but I honestly just was not all that eager to drop a lot of coins on one.

But a blogger must go on and you can't do so without a camera and while my iphone has been coming in handy for quick snaps at events, there is only so much you can do with it, (although I do have some sweet apps on it that I think are blogger must haves...post to come).

The camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T3 (can you say 5 easy payments? Woot!). Obviously not the most current model in the line but after just a couple of random snaps straight out the box, I could not find a care to give about that...

So, welcome new camera. I think we are going to get along smashingly and you are actually going to make me do something I never do...read your instructions...

mobile bloggin'...

because i am traveling light and not even using a suitcase (only using my weekend bag), i am also not taking my laptop with me to new york city, so i will be blogging from my phone.

it will make my life easier AND insure that i don't end up backlogged with posts.

the tools that i use to mobile blog are really easy to use.

because it is mobile blogging and typing on a phone is well, not much fun, i use the dragon dictation app.

it's free and so simple.

you talk into it and it types. it's not 100 percent on the translation but it's pretty darn good.

so i dictate and copy and paste the results into the blogpress app, which i have used for months now to blog while on the go.

it is one of the rare apps that i actually paid for (it costs $2.99) but it is so worth it.

you can pretty much do anything that you would do blogging on a computer, from uploading pics and videos, to using labels/categories, etc.

i seriously love technology!

oh and if you follow me on twitter, you know i am a big public transit girl and love the chicago transit app because it helps me to keep it moving and get anywhere i need to, so of course i am using a transit app while i am in nyc and it's pretty sweet too!
