{Luxaholic} Afternoon Tea & Bouquets #CurvyGirlsTea

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases. By doing so, you help to keep this blog going & I appreciate & thank you for it.

Hey Delights!

I recently hosted an afternoon tea for some of my Chicago blogger boos that was co-sponsored by Contessa of Plus Navigator and we had a really lovely time. There was lots of conversation and laughs and I wanted to share some of it with you.

The theme I created was centered around tea and bouquets, two of my favorite things. So I set up a bouquet bar and an ice tea bar along with hot tea & sweets and eats served at the table. Here is the bouquet bar. It was so lovely to have the big picture windows with the trees in full bloom framing it.

{OOTD} NellcoteCBN Oscar Party Rockin Vintage, Red & Studs

Sunday night I joined my Chicago Blogger Network family at Nellcote for a night of Oscars fun and of course fashion.

I did not arrive in time to take an official picture on the "Orange Carpet" because I have been purging and packing my life away for my move (more on that to come) and I could not decide what to wear at the very last minute, so I went shopping.

After all that, I ended up wearing an oldie but goody dress, an awesome sauce vintage coat that I thrifted for less than $7 and some killer studded heels.

{fun} It's the Weekend Baby

Happy weekend. I am so glad that Fall has definitely hit the city of wind and it has been so refreshingly cool.

This weekend will be sprinkled with fun.

Randolph Market is NEXT WEEKEND 9/29 & 9/30!!

Oopsss :)

And it wasn't an issue of my calendar being off because it is in my calendar for next wkend. I guess I was just a little too excited for it & jumped the gun!

Needless to say, I did not realize this until I arrived at it's location, only to find that it was a ghost town.

Le sigh...off to get a nap...

Tonight I will be at the pre opening of the final Randolph Street Market of the season.

I will be scouring the Market again to select a few items to bestow the Editor's Choice award upon (my previous selections here).

And the best part about it is when the items sell, a donation will be made to my charity of choice, The Greater Chicago Food Depository.

So, if you are in Chicago, make sure you add a trip to the Market to your weekend must do's (FOR NEXT WEEKEND!).

I am hoping to get some projects wrapped up, some photo shoots for le blog finished and to chill a bit as well.

Oh and of course I will also be getting a little swappin in at Chic Swaps on Sunday.

As always, if you see me out, say hey and I hope you have a fab one!

{events} We're Swappin it Baby!

The next Chic Swaps is this Sunday!

Have you gotten your ticket yet?

We had a blast at the dress swap
(recap here).

There were so many fab options and the ladies definitely left happy.

This Swap is all about separates, so expect to find skirts, tops, sweaters, pants and more.

It will be a perfect way to freshen up your Fall wardrobe on the cheap!

And this time around, you can attend and take home some new drag even if you don't bring clothes to swap.

Learn more and get your tickets here.

Hope to see ya there!

I love street art and always find myself snapping pics of it as I make my way around

Moi all smiles after my chat with Futura

Hennessy has partnered with the legendary street artist Futura 2000 to

{foodie} herbivoracious Cocktail Party & Cookbook Launch

A while back, my peeps at the Chicago Blogger Network hooked me up with an invite to the herbivoracious Cocktail Party & Cookbook Launch held at Heaven on Seven.

The author, Michael Natkin, a software engineer turned vegetarian food blogger was on hand to share how the book came to life.

{life} Sonsi Blogger Be-YOU-tiful Pop-Up Party

While in NYC for FFFWeek, I hit up the Sonsi Blogger Be-YOU-tiful Pop-Up Party to kick back with other bloggers and brands.

i was rockin a lil summer colorblockin

It was a really gorgeous morning only made even more fabulous by the drinks and eats and the convo with some of my favorite blogging boos!

with Glen from Full Figure Plus. anytime i am at an event with him,

{life} event...full...

to say that it has been an eventful week would be such a grand understatement.

early saturday evening i had the pleasure of being the featured blogger for the Kiyah Wright meet & greet and i got to chat her up. She's fab! i will post more about this soon.

sunday started off in a very lovely way, with a little theatre. i saw Immediate Family, a really fun, thought provoking play directed by Phylicia Rashad.

i also ended up sitting next to this incredible lady who immediately claimed me as her BFF! LOL...hey Ms. Green!

sunday evening on the other hand was unbelievable. i ended up going home early because i was a beat tired. i was lounging around half watching tv and working on my laptop when i heard a fire truck. initially i didn't think much of it until i heard a second truck & realized that they had stopped nearby.

i got up went to my living room & turned the air conditioner down and could faintly smell smoke.

I went back to my bedroom and opened the window and there was a fireman in between my building and the next one fighting off a wall of flame that was consuming both of the garages!

i went into autopilot. i was home alone in the buff, so it was grab a dress...grab my hair (yes, i snagged it on the way out of my room and slipped it on!!! Bwaaaaa), get the beast, who was surprisingly very calm, (and so was i) which is so not like him and why i call him the beast.

thankfully in the end the fire department's quick arrival, excellent work and the wind was in our favor.

while the garages and the autos in them were a total loss, only the siding of the building ended up melted. I also think that the fact that the building is so old and made from several layers of material, including good old fashioned brick didn't hurt either.

i am just so grateful.

the about 4 am monday morning we found out that the wee one had pneumonia and ear infections and a fever that was causing her to have seizures.

this after several days of fever and THREE visits to the doctor. which pisses me off and reminds me of something i was told by a grumpy, good hearted guy when I was 19 about why sometimes you need to make a lot of noise.

the rest of monday & tuesday were a blur of work, organizing and planning and yesterday after a twice delayed flight that had me anxious if i would actually make it in time, i arrived in nyc & went on the full figured fashion week white cruise.

with Marie of the curvy fashionista in this pic. i am wearing a Loft dress that i literally purchased tuesday night after a snafu with a dress i was having made for the party.

i rarely go into Loft but i made a quick run in and BAM, i saw the dress, they had it in large and it fit.

oh and i got lots of compliments on my necklace... its one of two new ones up for grabs at Closet Fete and more new stuff is coming next week!!

so, finally in nyc and in the end, it was a gorgeous night and a great way to cap off my return...

- posted from my iphone while living life out LOUD!

{recap} Chic Swaps Dress Swap

The Chic Swaps Dress Swap was a blast!

The ladies were happily clearing out the racks, noshing on eats and sipping on champagne.

This was a dress that i was going to sell in my Closte Fete shop
(it was brand new with tags on it like a lot of the plus size things
i need to put in the shop but haven't yet...le sigh)
anyway, i decided to take it to the swap and as you can see,
the chica who snagged it was very happy about that!

The next swap will be in the fall. Get on the mailing list to stay in the mix.

More pics on my facebook page.
