{What I Wore} Annalise Keating Inspired - The Fab 40's Challenge

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hey Delights!

Today I am off to NYC for the Fohr U: The Conference, so you can follow along on my instagram, snapchat and twitter to see what I get in.

But although I am scrambling & doing my last minute packing thing, I wanted to get this post up sharing my look as the guest blogger in the Fab 40's style challenge hosted by Veronica of Cid Style File. Basically they choose a monthly theme and style it out and this month's theme is "Villain". I can not tell you how hard of a time I had coming up with someone but I ended up going with How to Get Away with Murder's Annalise Keating. Mind you, I don't watch the show but because of my twitter time line, I feel like I do and I know Annalise be on some major villain type mess.

Anyway, here is my interpretation of Annalise Keating's style, which while conservative, always has a little sexiness to it. So I went with this fitted jacket and knotted skirt.

Dress: Eloquii (similar) | Blazer: Lane Bryant | Strappy Pumps: Last seen here | Similar Sunnies

Everything that I am wearing I have had forever and I am side eyeing myself for not having rocked this dress sooner. It has literally been in my closet for like a year and it is pretty awesome.

Thanks for inviting me Veronica!

Check out the other looks on her site!

{What I Wore} Short Shorts + Pom Poms + Thick Thighs

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Hello Delights!

This past weekend was as I mentioned in my Pretty Pastels post, AMAZING! We didn't have a bad winter but I am just so excited for Spring and sunshine. I think that's what I've been missing more than anything...sunshine.

But Saturday after spending all morning recording my Spring haul video (which I am still editing), we went out and grabbed a couple Divvy bikes and hit the pavement.  I love biking & it was so fun, so relaxing and just a really great day.

This outfit is basically an exact replica sans the pom pom slips ons, which are new and fab, of a look that I have worn many times (exhibit A).
Shorts:(old, similar here) | Top: Forever 21 (old, similar in a tee shirt style) | Pom Pom Faux Leather Slip Ons (comes in 3 colors) | Camera Bag: BP @ Nordstrom (sold out similar) | Visor Head Wrap: Scunci (similar) | Lip: Milani

I am definitely getting more of these visors, they are the most comfortable visors I have ever worn. They travel well because they are soft and fold up easily & I just throw it in my purse & go.

Hey Delights!

It was such an amazing weekend in Chicago and for Easter I decided to go pretty in pink & pastels. This open shoulder dress pretty much represents the type of fashion I want to live in all Spring and Summer. It's throw on and go, pretty, simple & comfortable.
I love it!

This amazing City Chic jacket is from my Gwynnie Bee closet. It will be featured along with this dress & lots of other pieces in my Spring haul video. And if you haven't tried Gwynnie Bee yet, STOP PLAYING! It's a no brainer. They have all the latest, cutest fashion and a free 30 day trial.

Happy weekend Delights!

This morning I got up early and recorded a haul video of some of the new pieces that I have gotten for my Spring and Summer fashion arsenal. But while I'm still in the editing phase I wanted to share the pieces with you because some of them may very well sell out before the video posts (they are just that fab!)

Stay tuned for the final cut of the video & in the meantime, check out my other videos on my youtube channel.

{What I Wore} Bell Sleeves & Ripped Jeans

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

Spring has finally arrived in Chicago and I was able to finally pull out that super cute stripped bell sleeved tee I purchased in January and it was definitely a hit on the streets.

I have worn these ripped jeans so much that I have had to cut some of the rips off.  So I am about to add a couple more pairs to my arsenal because I love the style, although you will not see me in the ones where the entire knee or whole thigh is out. For me that's overkill. And if you like the style but really don't want to show any flesh this patched pair or lace knee pair might be more your speed.

{What I Wore} Metallic Polka Dots

Hey Fab! As per our disclosure policy, we use affiliate links that may result in compensation if you click links & make purchases.

We celebrated my Daddy's 70th birthday this weekend and I pulled out this pretty Off The Shoulder Metallic Dot Dress from Eloquii for the occasion.

It is such a great, easy wearing dress and I was so grateful for that because there is nothing worse than trying to enjoy yourself and having to fuss with your clothes. It has elastic all along the top so it stays in place and you really don't even have to use the neck ribbon if you don't want to but I like that they add a pretty element to the dress.

I have these Fergalicious wedges in three colors, black, taupe & poppy. Only the taupe color is currently available but here is a similar shoe and although the heel is 4 1/4 inches high, thank the heavens they don't feel like it at all. I seriously want to kiss whoever invented wedge heels .

Hello Delights!

April showers bring...leopard rain boots & fab trench coat moments. I purchased this Via Spiga trench coat back in December for such a crazy deal and although mama nature wasn't ready to let Spring be great, GREAT just yet, I pulled it out & rocked it last week.

And while my trench coat collection runs really deep with lots of colors, I did not have a white one so I snagged this T Tahari single breasted trench. It has a lace flap back which is so pretty and today it is only $24 in my size (2x). Win WIN!!!!!!

I have had these boots forever and all LOVE to the inventor of the bubble umbrella 🌂.While folks were wet & struggling & the wind 💨was breaking their regular umbrellas like they were made of paper, I was dry, dancing in the streets & singing in the rain.💃

Cheers to April and let's hope all this crazy rain will bring the most beautiful flowers!

Plus Size {Fashion} Pick of The Day | Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant Floral Skirt #PlusSizePick

Hey delights!

Lane Bryant is at it again with a collaboration with a high end designer, this time they have teamed up with Prabal Gurung.

The Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant collection consists of 20 pieces that pretty much live in the red, black, white and blue lane and I am here for it. I love the florals and the stripes & I almost chose this striped cold shoulder sweater as my pick but I went with this gorgeous iris print full circle skirt. There is also a matching blouse, scarf and tee shirt in the collection.

The print screams Spring to me and I am so ready for it!

What say you? Are you loving this collection?

{What I Wore} Valentine's Blush

Hello Delights!

As I mentioned in my post featuring the faux leather peg leg pants, I really want to have fun with fashion and rock things that I don't normally rock. So when I saw this soft pink crepe blazer and ankle grazer cigarette pants, I had to have them & I am thinking about getting them in the lavender color that is currently available.

While I LOVE color and wear it as much as possible, I rarely wear pink. And I definitely did not have a pink pant suit in my life. And this is such a sweet blush of pink. While I went pretty dressy for this look with the deep v bodysuit & floral heels, I can't wait to dress these pieces down also.

{What I Wore} Red Fit & Flare

Hey Delights!

I have written about this many times about heart disease and how it has affected me and my family but it bears repeating over & over again that heart disease & stroke are the #1 KILLERS OF WOMEN.  And while Go Red For Women Day was a big day of national awareness, the American Heart Association is a cause we can & should support year round.

I own lots of red dresses but of course you can never have too many, so as I mentioned here, I made a quick Macy's run (who is having a sweet Valentine's Day sale) and purchased this fit and flare dress.

{What I Wore} Colorfully In Vested

Hello Delights!

I have had this fabulously colorful faux fur vest for years now. I remember when it first arrived that I couldn't stop wearing it around the house. It even ended up getting some love in my Warby Parker Home Try On Glasses review video. A faux fur vest is such a perfect layering piece for this time of the year, so I pulled it out for a Sunday of shopping and theater.
I just LOVE it!

{What I Wore} Duck'n Into Weekend

Hello delights! Today we are waking up in a frigid Chicago.  It is currently 15° as I am writing this but yesterday although it snowed lightly, I was able to rock one of my moto jackets & throw one of my reversible capes over it and hit the streets.

We finally got to see moonlight and I loved it. It made me sad but I loved the moments in it that showed the depth of our human capacity, compassion and connection. Mahershala Ali's Sag Awards acceptance speech pretty much summed it up.

{What I Wore} Emoji Plaid

This plaid caplet is definitely one of my favorite finds ever and it is the perfect layering piece. I threw it over a faux leather moto jacket, rocked some jeans, calf length boots and the cutest emoji wristlet.

{What I Wore} Teddy Bear Faux Fur Coat & Blooms

Hey Delights!

One of the things that I promised myself during the 12 Days of January was that I would do something small but special for myself every weekend. So now that I am on my way back to wellness and up and at it again, Sunday I went and picked up some flowers. Nothing expensive. I got them at Trader Joe's for like $10. But they are beautiful and they make me smile, which is all that matters.

And because as I mentioned here, I wanted to lighten up my energy, I pulled out my teddy bear coat. I love this coat so much. It's totally like rocking a cozy blanket 😘

{What I Wore} Popped A Little Powder Blue Spring on this Winter

After being sick for what felt like FOREVER, I have really been in search of things that give me a little more pep in my step, so I have ditched my beloved long black puffer coat (seen here & here) for my more colorful ones and I already feel lighter.

Saturday I went to see a great play (review forthcoming) and I pulled out this powder blue beauty that I got from Old Navy forever ago to rock over a catsuit. It is fuzzy and such a great color that you can't help but feel good in it.

Here are a few other lighter, fab, fuzzy winter coats to put a little Spring in your Winter.

{What I Wore} The Magic of A Red Dress

I featured & purchased this gorgeous red off the shoulder flare sleeves dress back in August but because I felt that it would be so perfect for the holiday season, I tucked it away in my closet and patiently waited for the right moment.

Red has always been my I am woman, hear me roar power color but something about it during the holiday season turns that power into magic!

{Link Love} Shouts & Raves | Vol 3

Hey Girl!

It's been a minute since my last Link Love: Shouts & Raves post, but I have a lot I want to share with you.

+ In case you missed it, I was asked to add my two cents to this Shape Magazine article, Would You Be Mad If Someone Called You Fat?. And if you have been riding with me for any amount of time, I think you know my answer but what about you? Would you be mad?

+ Speaking of mad, I know I am not the only person who feels like there isn't enough time to do ANYTHING! The days feels like they are flying by and there is so much I want to accomplish and way too many moments where I fall short.

Soooo...I have reached out to my Audible library for some much needed inspiration/help/guidance and I am currently listening to & loving 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think by Laura Vanderkam.

I started listening to it forever ago but ironically, that whole not enough time thing got in the way, but this time I am committed because, girl...ish is out of hand around these parts and I am just not about that life anymore. For realssss...

Denim is everywhere and I am LOVIN' it! This Melissa McCarthy Seven 7 Colorblock Chambray Dress from my Gwynnie Bee closet is the definition of how I like to dress...cute, simple and easy.

I paired it with an eloquii belt that I have had forever (I love this laser cut version) and my striped espadrilles (similar style). My bracelet is a gorgeous festival find and of course I am rockin my Fitbit Surge, which is almost $100 less than what I paid for it here.

{Fashion} Pick of The Day: Stylish $12 Sunglasses

Hey Fabs!

If you have followed me for any amount of time, then you know I am a girl who LOVES her some sunglasses.  And because my love runs as deep as it does & I am a bargain hunting queen, I am always on the hunt for cool, cheap pairs.

Now don't get me wrong, I used to love some of the more expensive brands back in the day but all it took was one day when I stepped on my first and only pair of $250 glasses that I vowed to never subject myself to that kind of purchase pain ever again.

{What I Wore} Winter Weekend Casual Style

Hey Fabs!

Still getting used to hearing & writing 2016 but completely excited for what it brings. Aren't you? As I have written before, I am a total new years resolutions kind of a girl, so while I have just been keeping things pretty laid back these first couple of days, I have major goals and I will definitely be working on them.

Anyway, Chicago like lots of other cities has definitely started to feel very wintry after weeks of unseasonably warm weather. And now it's sweater weather, so I have been pulling out my sweaters, layers and heavier pieces in defense.

Today I ventured out to meet Joe for a latte late in the afternoon. I have finally settled in on a Starbucks drink after I had to stop drinking my beloved chai because it is not vegan. But now, it's a decaf, soy, no foam, extra hot 9 pumps hazelnut latte. And when the barista gets it right...mmmm...it's so good.

I purchased this h&m sweater early on in December after spotting it on an ad featuring Katy Perry. It was a crazy steal considering the quality & warmth of it and it sold out pretty fast but here is a similar jacquard knit style in 2 colors.
