a little link lovin...

my google reader is a feast of feeds, consisting of everything from intellectual property and business attorney sites to freakanomics and of course a whole lot of fashion and beauty in between.

here are some recent links that i wanted to show some love...

ashe mischief's favorite places to shop for all sizes.

there isn't one link i wanted to share because the ladies at kisforkinky post so much fab stuff, but their site is a must read/bookmark if you love fashion and beauty, are into modeling or rock natural hair.

full figure plus offers some tips to help you get ya bra business right...and really, is there anything worse than wearing the wrong size bra!?!?

and one of my favorite sites of all time, advanced style, has been hitting the scene with the ladies extra hard lately and it is all so much love. i hope to have half their style as i advance in age...

i even lucked up and captured some shots of advanced style contributor and frequent feature model, Lynn Dell, The Countess of Glamour while i was in new york city during fashion week.

people were telling her she was fabulous and she said, "it's the umbrella that's fabulous"

she really is divine!

saturday afternoon...

and the living was easy!

it was raining out earlier today but i just slipped on my rain boots, grabbed a good girlfriend and headed out for the afternoon.

coat: lauren by ralph lauren, last seen here | top and leggings: new york & co |
bag: jessica simpson | ring: kfleye

eventually the sun came out and we grabbed some brunch then hit up the season finale of the randolph street market.

here are just a few of the things i loved...

i am so into big chunky pieces of gold right now.

and of course i always find bags that i love....this one was so funky

i also went to see my girl Kelly to check out what was new at  kfleye and she totally surprised me by gifting me this incredibly fun ring that i had been fawning over for quite some time!

love you girl!

oh and check out a couple of other pieces from her collection that i own and love in the posts here and here and a pair that i took to nyc with me earlier in the month.

her work is truly unique and her heart is made of gold.

after our market adventure, we eventually headed over to Margie's for banana splits!!!

damnlicious!

Plus Model Magazine Conference Featuring the Just As U Are Launch

One of the most exciting things I did while in NYC was attend the Plus Model Magazine Blogger Conference that featured the new Just As U Are collection.

The reason why this was so exciting for me, was that it is a thrill to see a company that is offering what amounts to custom plus size coats at affordable prices.

And these are not just any coats. The coats that were presented were well made coats in a variety of styles, colors and fabrics, from boiled wool to faux rabbit.

Here are some pics of the debut collection.

I am diggin them. I feel like there was something for every woman's style and more importantly, her shape.

Of course, we fashion bloggers being who we are, the girls made sure that the company reps knew that for future collections, we need even more colors and even more patterns (uh you know i love my leopard!!!).

They assured us that they would take all of those suggestions to heart and that this is just the beginning.

The company behind thw brand, AUI has been making coats for over 50 years. They have spent a couple of years conducting research and product development and the end result is their new fashion "matching system".

How it works:

Just As U Are will not use size numbers but your own body dimensions to help you select the perfect coat.

You enter your measurements (if you don't have a tape measure, you can soon request one for free!)

Their system will then match your body dimensions to their coat inventory to show you which coats would fit your body the best.

They are also planning to add a Virtual Dressing Room with a representation of your body (based on your measurements) so that you can "see" how it will look on you.

Isn't that cool?

I can't wait to get one!

sally hansen halloween 2011 salon effects collection

since i tweeted about these 2 weeks ago, i have finally gotten the last sally hansen halloween 2011 salon effects collection design that i wanted, the spun for you.

i also loved and picked up the wishnets and the hot wired.

they are so cute. and i love halloween, so i will be mixing up all during the month of October!

oh and i love these bats....they will be hanging all over my flat!!!

the collection consists of 5 different styles.
i wasn't really into the ghoulie girl or the numbskull but they are cute too.

i saw online tonight, that because the collection is limited, people are already selling it for obscene prices on ebay, etc, (which is so annoying) so if you want it and can't find it locally, the entire collection can currently be found online for the retail price here.

oh and check out more of my sally hansen salon effects collection....i love this stuff!

My 2011 Emmy's Red Carpet Rocka's

red definitely ruled the carpet at the 2011 Emmy's.

and the lady who rocked it the best for me was most definitely, Kate Winslet

her Elie Saab dress was pure heat.

it was simple and elegant and curve huggin...

and she rocked it with so much attitude!

i also loved Sofia Vergara who wore a gorgeous vera wang gown.

it was soft and layered and framed her curves to perfection.

she kept her makeup soft and her jewelry bold and colorful

just perfect!

Lloyd Boston & Jones New York Macy's Event

Tonight Lloyd Boston and Jones New York put on a fall fashion show at Macy's State Street.

Mr. Boston was of course fabulously dressed, funny and he is a total sweetheart.

This fab lady won a makeover, not that she needed one because she was already fly.

Before...

And after....

The focus of the evening was rockin' 3 essentials 7 ways.

1. A crisp white shirt - the JNY Easycare classic.  Under a simple sheath, suit, sweaters or mixed seperates.

2. A colorful cardigan - rockin it with classic black, fun colors, metallics, jeans and a classicly stylyed ruched dress.

Loved Emily, the curvy model... gorgeous!

3. The JNY Broadway Blazer - classic, lightweight and perfect dressed up or down.

Lots of fab looks to get you thru any occasion.

My style is to mixx and match pretty much whatever I am feeling at the moment, and I definitely saw pieces tonight that I would love to bring into my wardrobe.

Chicago Fashion Connect Fashion Industry Mixer

I attended another Chicago Fashion Connect mixer and just like the mixer in July, I really enjoyed myself.

with the founder, Raven

I met some really cool folks, in particular, Amber from Style Plus Curves!

She's totally adorable!

I love the current concept behind the mixers,
bringing a bunch of diverse lovers of fashion together to connect on a monthly basis.

And as you can see from the crowd, I am not the only one.

Avenue #FNO Recap

I love when a brand really takes the time to make their shoppers feel welcome and this was definitely the case at the Avenue #FNO event in New York City.

The store was packed with all of their new fall offerings.
I will post the pieces (including this dress) that I got soon.
Love them!

The music was thumpin, the bubbly was flowing and
you could tell that the customers were having a really good time.

Brooke Elliott, the star of Drop Dead Diva was there and the crowd loved her!
(her dress is from the fall collection!)

They gave away a $500 shopping spree...
the winner was very happy?! LOL

The models rocked the clothes while stylist Jacqui Stafford and Brooke
gave tips on how to make the outfits your own!

i arrived a little late, but i did see a couple of fab girls...
