Full Figure Fashion Week ™ Recap w/ The Curvy Fashionista

Check out my very impromptu interview with The Curvy Fashionista, Marie Denee.

It's all blurry which tends to be the case when I give someone my BB to take a pic
but we still look cute!

She graciously allowed me to drag her to record it during the Full Figure Fashion Week ™ Brunch that we attended at the lovely Taj Lounge in New York City {which btw had the most fantastic band playing during brunch!! just jammin! check out a little video of them here}

She talked about a little about the recently Full Figure Fashion Week™ in LA this October, some of her favorite moments and we even chatted a little with The Face of Full Figure Fashion Week™, Rosie Mercado.

And although I had a scheduling conflict because I had to attend Blogging While Brown {which I will be blogging about soon} that didn't allow me to attend most of the action, I did get a chance to attend a book signing at re/dress for Chastity Garner's new release "The Curvy Girls Guide to Style" {which btw I will be giving away on facebook soon!}

Here are a few more pics!

With Gwen DeVoe, the woman who brought Full Figured Fashion Week™ to life!

With Sharon Quinn, The Original Runway Diva

With Glen Johnson, The man behind Full Figure Plus

Check my Curvatude on the Scene Facebook Album for more.

I am so looking forward to attending all of the events during the next Full Figure Fashion Week™!

Plus Size, Full Figured, Curvy? What say you?

People try to call us all kinds of names but what I want to know is what do you call yourself?

Take the poll and please leave your comments as to why below!!

Please be honest and say as much as you want

This is being asked for a really big reason that could really turn into a good thing for us fashion wise!!!

Thanks!

Happy Summer: Nether Region PSA!

Happy first day of Summer!

I thought I would start off this glorious season with a post about our most sensitive private goodies.

If you are like me, you are preppin your nether region to stay as dry and cool and fresh as possible as the mother nature has her way with us with the brutal temps and humidity.

Whether you are shaving or waxing and powederin' there are some things I think you need to keep in mind.

If you are a shaver, make sure you use a fresh razor EVERY time. And if you spent the winter hibernating and building up a "reserve" down there, make sure you do a scissor trim first. And use a good shaving cream or shaving gel.

Prep the area with some heat and warmth, preferably from being in the shower or bath for a bit. Make sure you start to shave in the direction of hair growth and make a couple of swipes in the other direction while pulling your skin but don't get gaga going over and over the area or you risk cuts, razor burn and more. I always end with a nice hydrogen peroxide swipe down.

If you are a waxer {and gawd bless ya...cuz this girl aint havin it} check out this little PSA from Dr. Schultz on "waxing infections" and why they are caused and how most of the time they are inevitable.

And finally powederin. This is a MUST for me! I just can't stand being all sweaty and sticky!

And I am sure you have heard all the cornstarch vs talc debate and well I err on the side of caution based on all the medical chatter and stick to the constarch based brands.

But don't get carried away and pluff so much down there or risk getting it all over your drag.

Here's to a great Summer!

Gaby Sidibe's Mom on America's Got Talent

I don't watch much tv but my television is almost always tuned to NBC because I like the Today show crew and mainly for background noise in the house for my doggie when he is alone.

Yes. For my doggie!

AND?

LOL

Anyway, last night I walked in the living room and caught the tail end of Gaby Sidibe's Mom, Alice Tan Ridley doing the thang on America's Got Talent.

She is apparently this NYC subway singing star {and I can not believe that i never saw her all the years I lived in NYC - or maybe I did but I was always just getting from place to place thru the subways and usually aggravated by being in it in the first place...LOL #fail on my part}

But the lady has chops! I can't wait to see how far she goes on the show.
